these guys think they are all powerful!
Sloan should have decked that egotistical ref... anyone comes at you like that you have a right to defend yourself...
I love Sloan, he represents basketball and leadership.
I wish him the best.
The NBA continues to do little to improve the favoritism and bias from the refs.
If this ref has a known beef with Sloan then why is he allowed to ref any Jazz games to begin with? Throughout the game, this ref showed a visible favoritism towards the opponent. Of course, he didn't do it on every play, but it was very apparent at different points in the game. I could tell that he was a hothead.
Also, he obviously knows about Sloan's history with refs and did the same thing--got real close to Sloan's face. That's not what I call a professional attitude. Getting in someone's personal space is the same thing as pushing them.
In fact, try putting your finger above someone's else's face, particularly between the eyes, without touching them. They'll be able to feel it without you even touching them.
At any rate, it's a threatening move by that ref. I think he deserves to be fined and/or suspended more-so than Sloan. If anything, just assess Sloan a technical for swearing or something and give the ref at least a fine but better if he isn't allowed to ref anymore Jazz games. His threatening behavior towards Sloan obviously hasn't gone away. It's not worth having anymore altercations when there are so many other refs to choose from.
Concerned fan you don't know jack. I know this ref personally, and a hot head he is not. He is a no nonsense person, and calls it like he sees it. If you're such an expert at officiating, why don't you give it a try! If you didn't hear what was said between Michael and Sloan, you opinion and assertion are moot! He (Michael) was trying to figure out why Jerry was so enraged, he didn't know what happened with Amare being in front of their bench, so he was trying to get answers from Sloan!
