Beck and Skousen

seem to be kindred spirits indeed, although a generation apart. Ever since the fall of the Soviet Union two short decades ago, Americans and Europeans alike have forgotten about the menace of communism.

Currently sitting in a resort in Yangshuo in southern China and having spent the past couple of days in Shanghai-it is evident that the Chinese version is far more successful than what Russia ever managed, but still flawed.

Thank Heavens for Glenn Beck placed in this position to expound Dr. Skousen's voice of warning about the on-going perils of Obama's vision for the changing of America.

A perfect combination.

Thanks Lee for an excellent report.

Great Book

Get it and study it.

This book is a must for every family. Buy it, Read it. Get informed and join the movement to save our country and to renew our freedom. I personally want to thank the Skousen family and Glenn Beck for the courage and important work he is embracing. He truly is one of the Elders who is working to save the constitution. There is an ad to vote for Bob Bennett right beneath this comment box. Don't vote for Bennett. We need real conservatives.

Good Book

We got the book and have read it as a family. It's very good, not extreme in the slightest (although "progressives" like to discount it because they think the Constitution is a historical relic). It provides a good summary of what every good citizen in our country ought to know about the Founding of America --but isn't being taught anymore in our public schools, and newer generations of Americans haven't been taught in their homes as a result. Back to basics. This book is essential.

Thank You

Thank You Cleon Skousen and thank you Glenn Beck for bringing this inspired document into the light. Thank you for reminding us of the freedoms we enjoy and some we have enjoyed from the past, come from being a Constitutional Republic where correct principals are our guidepost. With out the principals espoused in the Constitution we are a bound to repeat the great mistakes of all civilizations of the past. The Constitution was created from the ashes of great civilizations and the inspiration of hope for a More Perfect Union

I love that book. It's truths are indisputable. It exposes all of our present governments folly.

I for One

very much disagree that the US Constitution was "inspired" To assume so necessarily assumes at least two very unprovable statements .1-That there is in fact some God 2 That such a God(assuming existence) gets involved in the political affairs of people . The US Constitution NOT ONCE mentions God, Jesus or any other religious figure. The Founding Fathers were VERY wary of religion . Something Glenn Beck fails to understand or realize amoung the mountains of things Mr Beck is utterly cluelss about

brick

The book is way old school and a waste of time.

Cats

Glenn is great a fulfilling a very important mission.

The most important thing we, here in Utah, can do this year to fight for our country is get rid Jim Matheson.

A vote for Matheson is a vote for Pelosi. Don't be fooled by this man any longer. It's time we all stand up and fight for our country.

John Birch

Would be proud.

Excellent

recommendation.

Disappointing Read

I read it and was sorely disappointed. I'm sure those without much education in politics, including the founding, would find it "informative." However, it's an amateur version of the founding supported by cherry picked quotes. He quotes the founders when it suits him and ignores their quotes when it disagrees with his thesis. If you read it and stopped there, thinking you now had the full picture, you would be very misinformed.

There are many good things that Cleon Skousen did. I believe in the Constitution. I also believe in my rights as a woman to be able to vote. I believe in the rights of all men and woment to be equal. I believe that owning slaves was wrong. I believe in my right to own property.

I also believe in my right to disagree with Mr. Skousen. His association with the John Birch society influenced and informed his writings and beliefs. This society is a radical right wing group who would take us back to the very beginning, before the constitution embraced everyone, not just white men. The Bill of Rights took us in a more fair direction.

I would suggest in lieu of reading this book that we talk to our neighbors, that we help one another and look past the differences we see. Rather than divide ourselves from others, I hope to see us come together united, as is stated in the name of our country, the UNITED States of America.

The book is factual, and nothing like it is presented to our high school or college students. I hope to have a scholarship program for our high school students to encourage their reading and understanding of our founders' inspiration and dedication to the values that underpin our constitution. If we can expose our young minds to these principles it can have a profound effect on the future of the Republic. If you can help me understand how to initiate this scholarsphip program, please provide your thoughts and ideas.

Re Cats

Matheson OPPOSES the Obama health care legislation . Maybe read the paper first and then comment . That would help.Matheson is independent and that he does not follow Glenn Beck( or Nancy Pelosi for that matter) around like a poodle seems to irk you .

True patriot

Drop Skousen and Beck. Read Howard Zinn.

Excellent book

The book contains 28 principles upon which our Constitution was written and the Founding of our great land.

The principles are inspired, God-given, and give you a greater appreciation for the things the Founders felt were important.

The book helps you recognize how far off our country has really gone off the track, and helps you learn what needs to be done to get it back on the right track.

Get it. Read it. Study it. Internalize it. It is inspired.

God bless Cleon Skousen for writing it. God bless Glenn Beck for recommending it.

"Inspired"

What Tripe. Not one of the Founding Fathers ever once said they were "inspired" I think this inspired talk comes from current day right wing Christians trying to make a bunch of Deists who were wary and critical of religion( the Founding Fathers) into a bunch of evangelical Jerry Falwell clones which they never were in any way shape or form. Stop with all the talk of "inspired" There is not one nanogram of evidence to support this nonsensical claim. Or you could povide some evidence of this which is impossible becasue that would somehow prove the existence of God and THAT folks is IMPOSSIBLE

Just Ed

A lot of conservatives have a reverence for the founders (and the Constitution) that seems dangerously close to a form of idolatry.
