You are a stud. I'd do the same thing.
Do your thing and let the chips fall where they may. You have my support 100%.
I love Jerry Sloan. He's my hero. Good for you Jerry -- that ref came up in his face and had no place being there. "It's not my first rodeo" -- Love you Jerry!!!
Change the team name to the UTAH SUPER-SLOANS! Only Jerry can get himself a technical with .2 seconds on the clock...
I criticise Jerry a lot for coaching decisions. BUT, not only am I with him 100% on this one, I thought the fowl WAS flagrant so I never realized his reason for defending himself from that ref. The Jazz couldn't hit the broad side of a barn last night, but they had more than their share of bad calls. The NBA had better improve this situation; or they are going to lose us "older" non-hockey fans. Don't back off Jerry.
Jerry Sloan is the best!!
but it looks like incidental contact with no malice. It will be interesting to see how the Jazz do if Jerry can't coach from the bench. The few times he has been gone are pretty mixed.
That Ref was way too close to Sloan!!! If the Ref was even a step further back (as they are taught to be, Sloan wouldn't have needed to put his forearm up to defend his space.
However, given the NBA's history of protecting their children (Refs), even when wrong, I wouldn't be surprised if Sloan isn't fined and suspended.
Jerry, you only did what needed to be done! Don't let this slow you down. Keep leading and fighting for this team.
Jerry your my HERO. Keep up the great work. Your a stud for sure!!!
Jerry is the best...Hee hee
How many rings does he have?
More credibility today for greg and his propoganda machine...
Agreed. The ref was WAY to close to Jerry. I've never seen, in 15 years of watching the NBA, a ref get up into a coach's face like that. They are supposed to be the ones to cool things down but this guy is obviously intimidated by Jerry or for some reason feels like he needs to act tough. He wasn't even saying anything when he got up in Sloan's face. He was doing nothing more than trying to start some kind of altercation. He should be the one to be to fined and suspended. Have some respect, like ALL of your peers do, for the longest tenured coach in pro sports! Sheesh!
How old are you man? Either you're a childish 20-something with an axe to grind or an old, bitter fogey...
todd from santa ana - A man is never too old to step upp and defend himself when the situation calls for it. You sound like a girly-man!
Don't ever change Jerry. Many of us think you're just great. I think you showed remarkable self control. I would have knocked that ref on his backside, and I'm 55 years old. GO JAZZ!!!
I do not care what he did? WHO won the game by the way?
Maybe he should act like a Hall of Famer and have the Jazz ready to play "practically every night"
I have a feeling when the season ends once again the "smart" will prevail over the "sheep"
first off the ref got in his face and why is no one talking about the suspension amare should have for leaving the bench??????? there was an altercation and amare walked the entire length of the court he should be suspended yet no one talks about that its redicilous the sport of basketball is a sham ran by fat white boys in suits trying to make a buck its garbage plain and simple.....
Sloan is my hero... I am 100% behind him on this and in everything.
Can I see that incident anywhere on the web? Anyone got a link???
Sloan was right, and perhaps he should have thrown a punch or two as well! Oh and to fake Todd: please stop using my alias, thank you!
Jerry FREAKIN Sloan.... What a STUD
If there really is a "Todd from Santa Ana", do us all a favor and keep your comments in Calif. Try the Orange County Register and the Clips.
Contact is contact.
Suspend him one game and move on. No worries.
