I hope it works as I guess I am in a medium risk catagory, but I hate the preparation for a colonoscapy.
The preparation for a colonoscopy isn't the greatest, but you have to know that colon cancer would be so much worse. The only thing that concerns me is stuff I've read that indicates that the instrument used to detect polyps and remove them also can perforate the intestinal wall. That's no good! And the less-invasive exam is called a sigmoidoscopy and it supposedly isn't as potentially harmful, but it also can't detect everything as it does not examine the entire length of the large intestine.
Does anyone else find it odd that this article about two medications to be tested for preventing colon cancer are never once identified in the article?
I'm glad you mention that. I thought I missed it.
Incredible to mention two drugs (?) and never identify them; talk about poor quality journalism. No value to this info as it is not even mentioned on the HCI web site
I am most grateful that such a study is being conducted. I am in the category of 100% chance of developing colon cancer. Because of that, I have had many surgeries, some causing additional problems to deal with, such as developing massive scar tissue that causes me to have intestinal blockages. This could be an answer to our prayers for many members of my family who also have inherited this gene. Thank you, Dr. Burt and others, for your time and the money invested in this research. We so appreciate you and wish you the best in this effort.
