Who's The Co. & Driver?

Let's report the company name of the transport and the drivers name please.

re: 9:17 a.m.

Seriously? This is where you expect to get your up to the minute traffic report?

re: 9:17 a.m. | 10:25 a.m.

Yeah, I actually do. It was kind of a big deal. I know most people don't care or think anything happens past Bountiful, but yeah. They posted something around 7 and didn't bother to say anything new until an hour and a half later. Guess it was water cooler time.

to the one who wants to report the driver,,,, I bet his company know all about this. I am sure the UHP let 'em know very quickly. As I think about it even talking about reporting it is a waste of space so I am going to shut up....sheeese

What diff does it make if you know the name of the driver or not...What are you going to do, hunt the guy down, or try looking up someone in the phone book with the same name and harrass them? Why do you NEED to know his name? Get real!

Build build build now!

This is why we need to expand Legacy Highway north to Brigham City and south to Payson/Santaquin. Every time we get a big accident like this it shuts down the ONLY artery connecting the north and south and middle of the Wasatch Front together. Build build build that 2nd artery now!!!

Expensive

Wow! I'd hate to be this guy and/or his employer. That's going to be one costly cleanup and repair bill!

I agree!!! If we had an alternate freeway such as Legacy... it would have been a much nicer commute... I live in Farmington but had to go to Roy for business. I left 20 minuted early because the report I read said the road would be closed a couple of hours... it was 8 hours and I still waited 50 minutes to be detoured in Clearfield.... good thing I do know my way around West Point and was able to get to my appointment only an hour late!!!! We need Legacy!!!

BonGo

well for one if they were to extend legacy to brigham then that would be even more road work that you have to deal with on the way to and from work and not only that if your too lazy to take the old highway from clearfield to brigham it would take you just as much time if they built the extension onto legacy so think about taking a little more scenic route once in a while

just glad no one was seriously hurt or killed in the accident...

Living in Clearfield, I had the unpleasant experience to have a 9 am appointment in Riverdale and then later in the afternoon, I had another appointment in Ogden. Both times, I had to go west to 2000 West and went slowly north to get eventually to my designated meetings, one half an hour late and another it took fifty minutes instead of my usual twenty minutes. Not really bad considering but it sure did seem forever.

What really is fascinating is how one accident can have such a major impact on traffic. Imagine what would happen in a major disaster, it would be complete chaos. Our transportation network along the Wasatch Front is very fragile that even seemingly minor accident can have big repercussions. Just multiple that by two or three and one can easily have a complete breakdown on our road system.

The Utah Department of Transportation and the North Wasatch Front Regional Council sure must have an impossible nightmare on their hands that few people really comprehend.

Major Crash..Driving Wreckless

And They Believe He was Under the Influence!!!

When this story was first published, it was reported that the drive fell asleep, which is a bad thing for a trucker anyway, but now I hear that the UHP is going to recommend DUI charges. I know that he's innocent until proven guilty, but if the latter, that just FROSTS me. Professional drivers have even more of a responsibility to keep themselves clean and alert - especially when hauling a couple of pup tanks of diesel fuel, for crying out loud! I'm glad nobody was seriously hurt, but I hope this guy gets the BOOK thrown at him in court.

Its just unreal how people here in Utah think. Accidents are generally self inflicted... Just maybe something was wrong with the driver besides what was on the surface... So critical so judgemental.. so hateful. You don't know this person yet you say hurtful things .. You aren't being being very Christian about it.. It is not up to any of you to sentence this person.. I bet none of you obey speed limits..I have been on 15 more times and I see stupid people driving from one lane back and forth because you are in a hurry to get and go... pass ,cut off other drivers and tail gate... get real people and stop judging others ...

Re: Anonymous @ 7:36 a.m.

Please spare us the "judgmental" sunday school lecutre. They found a meth pipe in the cab of the truck. It's very reasonable and prudent for us to deduce what probably happened here. Even if he wasn't high on meth at the time, it appears this guys lacks good judgement and is probably in big trouble legally. Either way, we have a right as a public to use our brains to understand what happened here. We're not on a jury deciding this guy's fate, if we were then we would be bound by the law to consider this guy innocent until proven otherwise. It's like finding out your neighbor is accused of sexual child abuse. Do you consider him innocent until proven guilty and therefore let your kids continue to play at his house?

truck drivers

Are like any other driver.
Some are excellent drivers
Some are ok drivers.
Some are neglegent and poor drivers.
Probably are more likely to be impared then most drivers.
This is what scares me.
