Y

If the Y can get by Florida, they can beat KState who is not as disciplined or as good a shooting team as the Y. Therefore, the Y has a legit shot of making Sweet 16 this year

Great draw BYU

Great draw BYU. Florida was a major bubble team and will be beaten by BYU. We have got to set this as the expectation this year! Boylen needs to get his Yewts in next year!

Good draw

BYU can beat the Gators, but KState beat UNLV by double digits in Las Vegas. If the Cougars can pull the upset in Oklahoma City with all the Wildcat fans, they get to return to Salt Lake as part of the sweet 16. That could get really exciting!

SOS

Florida SOS = 33
BYU SOS = 116

Florida plays a schedule 4 times as tough as BYU.

Florida 80
BYU 65

One-and-done

Don't confuse wins and losses in the Mountain with wins/losses in the Southeastern conference.
Florida's Ranked Opponents
Michigan State
Syracuse
Kentucky - Twice
Tennessee - Twice
Vanderbilt
And throw in Mississippi State - lost to Kentucky by 1 - SEC tourney

Cougs have a great time but don't unpack your suitcase.

Ernest T. Bass

Florida isn't very good. Neither is Kasnas State well beat them and go a ways in the tourny.

"draw" 5:07...uuuuuu

must be having a senior moment with that post? If you watched any of the many other tourney games you can see the talent in the other conferences. The Ybu cannot hang!!

Congrats Cougars

The draw couldn't have been scripted better for the Cougars.

Playing the last at-large team into the tournament, Florida, a team that lost 4 of their last 5 games, and is not a great rebounding team.

Then, taking on Kansas State, a team that UNLV beat 95-80 in the T&M. The games are in Big 12 country, but Oklahoma City is not a Big 12 city. It'll be interesting to see if UNLV and BYU fans will support each other since they both play in Oklahoma City.

IF, the Cougars make to the Sweet Sixteen, they'll be playing in Salt Lake City -- SWEET!!!

Which BYU

1) Fredette, army of one or 2) Tavernari and team. If the two versions could get going on the same game, watch out! If not, move on.

Dreamers

One and done!!!

Alaska Air

All the BYU haters (Yewt fans) are back on. Hey Yewties, what seed is Utah's men team in the Women's NIT, oh wait they couldn't even make that.

Ernest T. is a stud!!

BYU isn't very good. They are way over rated. Anyone who is a BYU fan should immediately be considered self righteous.

The SEC and ACC conferences are untouchable. BYU shouldn't even be in the same gym as Florida.

re: SOS

"Florida plays a schedule 4 times as tough as BYU."

Your statement proves just how clueless you are, HATER!

Don't confuse yourself with analysis like:

BYU RPI 23
Fla RPI 56

RPI does take into account wins, losses and SOS, but apparently, that little tidbit escaped your brilliant analysis.

little heavy

watching the slection show, I saw UNLV, SDSU, UNM, USU, and BYU. But for the life of me, I couldn't find the ewets any where!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE:Great draw BYU

This is not a "great" draw, but a workable draw, something they have not had for several years.

Good luck!!!

While we are watching our team play, ""draw" 5:07...uuuuuu" will be figuring out whether or not he has Boylen to work with next year, and what other new "yewtie cuties" (senior moment) to put in his next classless, sore loser post (I will say he was at least being fresh... most yewtie whinings are getting stale.)

Looking forward to next Thursday.

Play your game, Cougs!

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah...talk it up, critics.

When BYU plays their game: tough team defense, spread the ball around, and get up and down the floor, there aren't many teams in the country that can play with the Cougs.

Most of you will have to see it to believe it, but I've already seen what's possible with this group.

Just hope they play that way!!!

Re: 5:11 p.m.

So quick to criticize.

I guess that is why we play the game, isn't it?
Why don't you just wait and see what happens?

Re: uuuuuu

Interesting that all the ESPN commentators picked BYU. But we all know u know more than they do...right?

Must be having a duh moment.

PurplePeopleEater

Just as I'd posted before, don't win the MWC tourney and you'll get a bad seed. 7th is like being nationally ranked 28th to 31st, which the Cougars aren't.

Even their RPI has them higher than that. What a slap in the face! Maybe that'll get them focused (the whole team, not just Jimmer and maybe another player).

Interesting that the last team in (Florida) gets as high a seed as it does (10th). Both seeds were likely maneuvered in order to get a match-up that the committee thought would work against the Cougars.

No complex, people, just history.

Kansas State

beat UNLV, but did lose to two teams not in the RPI Top 50:

Mississippi RPI 62
Iowa State RPI 123

Kansas State lost at home to Iowa State (15-17, 4-12) in overtime 82-85.

Bubble team??

Florida was a "bubble team" just hoping to get in and they're given a 10 seed? Go to be kidding me.

I know Florida has some guys that can really play, so I don't think this will be an easy game for the Cougars. Add to that the fact that we didn't beat UNM at home and lost AGAIN to the home team at the UNLV Invitational and I don't get a good feeling about playing Florida. I think our Cougars are going to have to play with a lot of heart and intensity if they want to advance to the 2nd round.
