Great game guys! I am so impressed with the team and how intense their defense is. Unbelievable. I feel bad for whoever plays us next. Go Aggies!
Couldn't watch but I have to admit with such large margins of victory USU is now a lock. ESPN and CNN SI had them as locks today but this solidifies it. But for the Aggies to shake the past tourney losses they need to win at Nevada so they can bump up to a 9 or 10 seed.
We'll see how the Cougars do. I checked out RPI and USU had climbed to 30 and about a 10 point lead in SOS that kind of surprised me that USU played a tougher schedule than BYU.
One wonders if they added all of the Aggie points this season, and all of their opponents points in one lump sum... and did that for every team in the nation.... if the Aggies wouldn't have a bigger win margin than any other team in the nation?
I watched the game. Two things stood out:
1. Pooh Williams and Tyler Newbold are absolute studs on defense! Kyle Gibson is a very good player and Pooh consistently keeps him well under his average (as with most people he guards). Tyler also did an awesome job on Jamel Guyton who was blazing the nets against Fresno State.
2. Jared Quayle is playing great basketball. He scores when he has the opportunity, but mostly he is just running the Stew Morrill offense amazingly well.
Go Aggies!
Go Aggies!
KEEP WORKING HARD!!!!!!!
I completely expected the Aggies to beat La. Tech, but to totally destroy them was something else. If we draw Nevada in the championship on their home floor that would certainly be a tough task. But it feels like under any circumstances I have a very hard time believing this team can lose to anyone in the WAC. Their lock down defense, depth, and persision execution are just unstoppable, at least at the WAC level. I really get the feeling this might be the year the Ags break the winless streak in the Big Dance. Go State!!!
Can anyone stop this team? Have we seen an aggie team this consistent ever, this late in the season? And this balanced, we almost had 6 guys with 10 tonight, 4 guys had 9.
Fun to watch them on D and O......Hope we blowout whoever we play tmr and then go win the first 2 rounds in NCAA's...
Keep Rolling
No one can compete with the Aggies studentbody. It is becoming apparent that no team in the WAC can compete with the Aggie Team.
I love my brother Bill!
Go Aggies
One game at a time, we don't want to get ahead of ourselves like BYU did tonight:)
Ags play team ball which helps, no stars, just a solid team, love watching these guys.
I can't cheer for BYU, so the Ags are my team in the Tourney this year. Go Aggies!
I'm glad we've seen the full-court press so much lately. The Aggies are getting pretty darn good at breaking the press. That should say dividends in the big dance!
If we had any respect nationally, we'd be penciled in as at least a 7 seed for the Big Dance.
Too bad the Aggies couldn't play a competitive schedule like the Utes and BYU do. One game in Decemeber does not a season make. What they need to be able to show their stuff is a tough conference slate with home and away games against better teams than what the WAC had to offer.
Wiith all due respect, we really don't know how good the Aggies are. All we know is that they are better than very easy teams, including WSU and the phony buster game. That should have been home and away also. Then we would really know.
Once again the best team in the State proved such.
Aggies have the tournament mojo.
New Mexico and Nevada ran each other into the ground last night. Tough loss for Nevada at home by one.
Ags versus Ags. Go big Blue!
Congratulations to the best college team (and most consistent over the past 10 years I might add) in the state! The Aggies continue to prove, despite their limited media coverage compared to Utah and BYU, how solid of a program they really have. They represent the true essence of 'Team'. Stew consistently proves to be one of the best coaches in the country with what he's able to get from his players.
I'm a BIG fan of the AGGIES, and what their entire program is about. They are a lock in the big dance. Go Big Blue!! The entire state should be proud to support our team up north.
It's great to see the Aggies playing well. I really hope they continue to play like they are now and go make a tourney run. Let's take it to the next level Aggies!
The Aggies put a nice exclamation mark with its 16th straight win. Any coach with half a brain has to fear facing the Aggies next week in round one. With this winning streak USU deserves its highest NCAA seed ever.
Having been to the Utah loss game and after seeing the Aggies drop the first two WAC games I was more than worried. Now all of that just makes this AGGIE season that much more incredible.
Best team in the WAC, best team in Utah and best team in the West. USU is on FIRE!!!
Stew for President, Quayle for Secretary of State, Pooh for Department of Defense and Wild Bill for Governer. Getrdone!!!
Is this the winning team? YES THIS IS THE WINNING TEAM!!!
Go Big Blue!!!
have fun watching the Aggies play tonight for a conference championship while both BYU and Utah with their "competitive schedule" are both sitting at home :)
