I hope that the judge in this case has the sense enough to remember that this about a young girl whose life was stolen because of the actions of this man. Thankfully she is out of the country focusing on her life.
IT'S ABOUT TIME!
I hope he gets what's coming to him...the same pain he caused Elizabeth...hope he rots in jail!
Seven years, all because one "expert" said he was incompetent -- and because of society's stupid reverence for the piece of sheepskin, for the "credential," for the resume, instead of common sense.
No wonder a mail-order diploma industry exists -- it's because of all the stupid, unquestioning employers and others who are so wowed and impressed by the piece of paper.
And no wonder students and parents pay through the nose for them, when for the most part they can gain the same information for free at the public library.
We all knew he was faking his hymn-singing. But the person who said otherwise was the one with the sheepskin. So she was right.
Doesn't this case demonstrate, finally, the low worth of the piece of sheepskin -- and the inestimable value of a thimbleful of common sense?
Fortunately Kimball had some common sense. Now we can move forward.
Oh and by the way: "It's our firm conviction...our client is mentally ill." We will seek an insanity defense, federal defender Robert Steele said.
Yeah, sure it's your "firm conviction," counselor. This is just the sort of disengenuous statement that gives lawyers a bad name.
what about the death penalty
I grew up next to Judge Dale Kimball. If he in fact hears the case, you can go no better.
The wheels of justice turning! Only takes 7 years for one full revolution! Truly a wonder to behold. I'm surprised anyone is still alive who even remembers this case.
This is a joke! We will be lucky if it starts in May of 2011.
The justice system should be ashamed that a case like this has sat around this long and wasted all the time and money it has.
At least it's finally happenning. The sooner the trial starts, the sooner it's over & the sooner it will be out of the news.
Our court system is totally corrupt. Whatever happned to a speedy and public tiral?
If he sings again, just tase him till his teeth explode!
I don't want him to rot in jail. I want him dead. Sadly, that won't happen. The fact that we have to pay for his food, health, and his college education and masters degree in law he will get now stinks!
It's al about forgiveness. We should be kind and forgiving of Mr Mtichell as he is the product of a troubled life. We in America need to tone down our oftentimes harsh judicial system in favor of one where the offender gets needed guidance and help. Although the crime rate in Tijuana is almost zero, this is due to the very stern corporal measures employed by their law enforcmeent agencies. The attitude of those Tijuana police, when I find it necessary to go south of the border to buy tulips, just make me shiver.
Gee, what's the rush?
How long does it take to put together a case?
Unfortunately, he court system is like the rest of the country...
Mitchell had agency like you and I. He chose evil and therefore must suffer the consequences. Let him rot in jail.
slow down! This case is moving way to fast!
