Oh well!! I can see the game!
Why have the Mountain if you are not going to have you title games on it? I've pretty much given up on the MWC. Go Aggies!!!!
Whaat?.....Whaaat!.....WHAAAAAT!
Anonymous can I come over?
Of course I should be focused on one game at a time.
Please explain where you come up with the figure that ESPNU is only available in 40% of American houselholds. The fact is that ESPNU is available in ANY home, regardless of whether that home has Verizon FIOS, COmcast cable, DirecTV, Dish, or any other cable/satellite provider. ESPNU may only be available in the most expensive programming package offered by some of those providers, but they ALL offer ESPNU if you're willing to pay for the package it is in. Don't confuse availability with individual selection. That some people choose not to purchase the packages with ESPNU does not mean it isn't available in 100% of homes with cable/satellite. On the other hand, the mtn is just not offered on most systems.
you know more than I do? I work for Directv and I have heard nothing about on the work before the NHL playoff that there is a possibility VS will come back? We rep has no insight behind the closed door what is on the work.
well the Mtn network a darn good idea that is playing out in utter futility. No HD makes it unwatchable. No versus for direct and no mtn for dish. Well the commish tried.
I believe this should be revised to subscribing Amercian households. There are many of us sad folk who only have over-the-air programming.
This is a matter of fact. Today's media has us by the throat, and is squeezing. Tell them to get lost, and forget these games, in other words move on with your lives if someone wants to actually rob you and gives you an out if you keep walking, what are you going to do? It'sad that our university's have to put our student athletes through this mess all for the sake of the almighty buck! What message are we sending to tommorrows business leaders(the students) with this mongrel greedy attitude? The media response that you need to spend more for the complete packages is just wrong and hopefully come back and "kill" them in the end. Thieves thats all!
The really frustrating thing for me is why the Mountain West Conference has decided to put the game on Versus. First they put the games on a channel no one had, then once people get that channel, they change it to another one that many people can't get. They tell you to get Directv so that you can see the games. Then you get Directv and can't see the games. Why are they tormenting us?!
Versus, the Mountain, the MWC......all jokes!
#1 Versus has by far the most subscribers that can watch it, so that is why the championship game is on versus. Along with CBS College and the Mtn, they all have MWC rights and pay for the programming.
#2 I have Comcast and they put all the Mtn channel MWC tourney games on HD on one of the lower channels (like 6 or something) so I get every game always and I am very happy with my service, although I still miss my Dish DVR a little.
I am hoping that like other games on vs. that this game will be broadcast online. If anyone knows a site online where the championship game can be seen, please suggest it here. I know that URLs can not be posted, but you can give some hints.
I have tickets to go watch UNLV-UNM tomorrow. No biggie for me.
I guess we all have our problems. I have cable and I get The Mtn and Versus but not CBS-C. I have to go to my sister-in-law's house to see the games on CBS-C as she has Direct TV. I can't be going over there at 9:30 tonight. She'll record it for me but it really tics me off that I won't be seeing it live. On the other hand, in spite of all the complaints about The Mtn and others I've seen nearly every BYU basketball game this year and that is a huge improvement over what we had in the past.
All of the tournament games have been in HD on the MTN, If you have the HD package. Go to 616-1.
This is precisely why I mainly watch Universal Sports on KSL-2 or BYU TV. As much as I like football and basketball, I won't pay to watch it on TV. I am now learning to enjoy skiing, BYU football classic game re-runs and BYU rugby on TV. I also still enjoy the NFL on Fox and CBS.
I will pay to enjoy HS football and basketball games in person and I enjoy the little league version of these sports as well, but pay TV and Mtn West Football and Basketball are rapidly disappearing in this sports fan's rear view mirror.
Can someone validate for me whether tonights MWC games are going to be shown in HD on channel 6 like they were last night (I live in Orem)? My on screen programming guide only shows "Basketball" programming in 1.5 hour chunks for tonight, where last night they listed the games being shown as MWC games in HD. I ask because I only have a basic digital cable package and that doesn't include CBS-C.
I guess I should have paid the extra $30 per month for tonight's games on CBS-C, in stead of trying to watch my budget!
The stupid thing is that last nights MWC games were on the Mountain, tonight's are on CBS-C, and tomorrow night's championship is on Versus. If it is so important to show on Versus tomorrow, they should have scheduled the entire tourney there!
I guess all of the hunting and fishing programming scheduled for tonight on Versus is just to valuable for them!!!
Rediculous!
I just called Comcast and they have a solution to your (and and my) problem.
Call and order the sports package add-on for basic digital for $5.95 per month (in Orem--I know rates are sometimes different in different parts of the state). This opens up access to CBS-C. Then call in after the game and cancel it. They indicated that I will be billed a pro-rated rate for one day's usage. In other words I will be charged 1/30th of $5.95 for one day's usage, or approximately 20 cents. I verified this with the agent before ordering.
It may be inconvenient, but hey, at least I can watch the game on CBS-C in my own home!
Good luck!
