Good luck to Professor Miller. Being a Democrat in many Utah districts is an uphill battle, but then again this may well be a bad year for incumbents regardless of their party. It sure ought to be.
Good luck, Professor Miller. I'd vote for you if I could. A fresh perspective would be fantastic.
Now, would someone run against Chris Buttars?
I didn't think anyone involved with scouting and be a BYU professor could be a democrat. Anyway, I would love to see someone defeat the right-wing Lockhart. We need more moderates for some balance in the legislature.
We need at least one Democrat in Utah County. We have a bunch of right wing nut jobs with the exception of Steve Clark of course. Mr. Miller, you have my vote!
I wish I could vote for Hal Miller! He's such a brilliant and thoughtful leader. He would represent his neighbors so well if elected.
What a waste of time and money Professor. You have no chance at all. Mark my words. YOU WILL LOSE BIG.
If you've been here 35+ years, your perspective is anything but fresh.
I have always been impressed with Hal Miller. He has our vote!
Go Dr. Miller! You've got my support. It's well past time to bring some moderatation to the State Gov't, especially from Utah County.
Anonymous, your comment is off base. The point is that here is an experienced, thoughtful, bright, and service-oriented person who has not spent time in gov't office and is not beholden to any special interest. This is exactly the type of "fresh" perspective we need.
Although, he's got great intentions, there have been a number or educators with impressive credentials that have run as democrats and soundly defeated. Remember Paul Thompson, former WSU president, and Harvard degrees and lost by a land slide. Hal Miller's results will be no different. He should save his money and think of a better approach.
A fresh perspective ?????? It's not Democrat VS Republican that I'm worried about! It's the fact that you're all Mormons! I just think it's time we had some non Mormons in the Legislator to balance things out.
Gee, thanks, Charles. Apparently you're also lacking a fresh perspective . . . and an unbiased one.
From what I have observed, most of Utah County is VERY pleased with how our current representatives are defending our State's rights and managing a difficult budget.
Chuck, your just out of touch. Go back to your BYU dreamworld and keep your opinions on campus.
If Charles is biased so are all of the Mormons who are currently in office. His comment stands -- having a non-Mormon in office would create more balance.
