The greatest aggie of them all!! RIP Big fella!

We have all lost a fine example of discipline, and character; he will be so missed in years to come, and his positive influence for the state, his church, Utah State University was an example to follow.

RIP Merlin Olsen, the greatest Aggie who ever lived!!

He was a great actor. Very lovable. Still enjoy watching him in "Little House on the Prairie." And he made good choices in roles he played. They were uplifting and wholesome. Condolences to his family and friends.

Merlin Olsen lived a full life albeit a short one. I was a lifetime fan of his because he was a joy to watch no matter what he was doing. He gave it his all and set the example of how we should live our lives. He will be missed. My prayers are with his family, May he rest in peace.

RIP Merlin. Yout were a credit to the University, the State, and the NFL. You will never be forgotten.

He was a great football player, actor and first-class human being. And now on to bigger and better things up there in heaven!

A legend in Football has died. Very sad but he will be remembered for all time as a football great.

What an awesome person and a great human being. We have lost a special individual. I really looked up to him when I was growing up as a kid.

Merlin was a fine actor on Little House on the Prarie. It's fun to hear the rest of the story about his life. My condolences to his family.

Merlin was always a class act. His effort on and off the field was always top shelf.

This is very sad. He was a great athlete, and above all a great person. The valley has one of its greatest members gone. They will miss him.

Sorry to hear of his passing. What a great example and player. He was one of my idols as I grew up and I met him 20 years ago.

Mesothelioma is a lung disease caused by exposure to asbestos. Wonder where this athlete and actor picked up asbestos?

I happen to be the exact same age and attended cache valley schools at the same time as Merlin, and in my opinion was and is the greatest athlete to ever play college sports in the state of Utah let alone to have been born and raised in this great state. May you rest in peace Merlin!
