We certainly need it here. These new radical right Republicans are trying to take over the already established right-wing Oligarchy. Heaven help us!
Balance + Utah County?
Good luck Jim!
The approach to funding this guy has is the biggest reason this country is in trouble, I mean big troubles.
While I would hardly call Lorie a radical right-winger, she would have my support. As a precinct chair in Lorie's district, I question anyone's motivation for switching parties just to bring "parity". Remember folks, a Democrat in the House Legislature is one more chair closer to them taking control of the House up in Salt Lake. Don't go saying, "but this is Utah..." because the Democrats have had control before, and one only has to look at the federal legislation (obama-care) that the Democrats are trying to foist upon us to see that giving them a majority is a recipe for killing liberty in this country. It only takes one vote to give them the majority, as the recent Senate shift has taught. Parity?! I would rather the super-majority and work within the Republican party to get rid of the party insiders than to give the Democrats majority.
*steps down off the soap box*
I switched parties in Utah because I could not live another day with myself as a Utah County Republican. Seeing how legislators, like Lorie, follow lock and step with the party and would never dream of challenging the Eagle Forum or other Far-Right Republicans made me flee the GOP happily. There is no chance of pleasing the regular conservative Republicans as long as the Utah County Republican Party Platform is so radical.
Utah's GOP, including Lorie, are trying to 'foist' on us big business socialism. Whatever happened to Compassionate Conservativism in the GOP? So now it is obvious that the Compassionate part of the GOP has disappeared to be replaced by fear of the left.
Don't let the rhetoric of "The left will ruin the country if you're not GOP" make you stay a Republican. It is a fear tactic. Vote logically- not out of fear.
Besides Rocky Anderson, Democrats in Utah are conservative Republicans in most other states. A Blue-dog Democrat is better than a far-right Republican every day of the week.
I have just been enlightened. I did not know they had Democrats in Utah County(sarcasm).
It sounds like your medication has worn off.
Your fear tactics are rediculous. The republicans control the state legislature by around 90% - yet you say that one vote will ruin this country... ugh, I really don't even know where to begin with that one.
I wish Jim the best - he is a great person. We need people like him in the legislature as a strong voice of reason.
Good luck Jim!!!
Jim is a good and ethical man. He won't last long in the Utah Legislature. There is no room for honesty there.
Good luck Jim, I wish you well.
Yes - we want to restore a democratic balance to the Universe. We want more tax and spend like they have in California and New York. We want Obama style ethics initiatives just like Chicago. We want education funding to grow beyond our means. And yes - we want world peace.
