Stew has your back!

Hey Preps. Stew is a fantastic coach that cares about his players and has put together a system to put out a quality product every year. The Spectrum is the place to be.

Go Big Blue!!!

Alford could learn a lesson

Kudos to Morrill for acknowledging his mistake. Too bad New Mexico's Steve Alford doesn't have similar class.

Skippy

Does anybody remember the days when athletes would get thrown out of a game for swearing? If that were the case now, every college in the state would not have five players left on the court at the end of the game...not even BYU!

Morrill

I do have sympathy for those that loose their cool when they really don't need to. But it does add a little humor when your mom is sitting in the bench behind you. By the way what did your mom think of that. Doesn't she sit right behind you? Was she proud. :)

"...every college in the state would not have five players left on the court at the end of the game...not even BYU!"

Yeah sure Skippy, like we're going to believe you're an expert on this behavior and would know. "Skippy"?? I don't remmeber ever trusting anyone named "Skippy" about anything, except for peanut butter.

Unclear?

"What Morrill said is unclear"????? The television replay made it quite clear. Props to the coach for backing up his player and showing the competitive fire. It was awesome. What he has done with this team is remarkable, especially given the slow start. There is no better coach out there.

Alford and Morrill should talk about writing a book together on how to swear at 20 year kids. They appear to be quite good at it.

re: Ernest T. Bass

Along with every other coach in the nation.

re: Ernest T. Bass

Stew would say the same thing to your face no matter your age if you were trying to take out one of his players with a cheap shot, guaranteed. I doubt, however, that you would share your opinion the same with him.

jackhp

"20 year (old) kids"? When do they become adults?

Joe

Some of those NMSU players need a good butt chewin sometimes. Stew told that kid what he deserved.

re: Bass 1:12pm

Wow, Stew sounds like quite the tough guy according to you. So he'd do that with plenty of people around to help defend him and the TV camera's going, right? How about if I met him somewhere else without all of that "protection" around?? Hmmmm? He looks just slightly out of shape to me. I think he'd go down pretty fast and be gasping for breath before anyone could even say stew morrill swears at kids.

hahaha

And u know this how??

"Along with every other coach in the nation."

Like you would know. You're making an assumption. You know what happens when you assume something is a certain way: you make an a** out of u and me. The "me" would be anyone else who falls for your very generalized statement. "Everyone" must behave that way, right? I doubt that's the case although you'd like to drag everyone thru the same mud.

Ernest T. Bass

Of course every coach in the nation behaves this way. That's why it's completely acceptable behavior the WAC reprimanded Morrill and he had to apologize.

P.J.

I'm not an expert lip reader but what Morrill appeared to say was "get the f*** of him", referring to Young jumping on Jardine for the loose ball. Stew is a great coach and like previous comments have said, he has his players back and as fans we have Stew's back. Go Aggies!

"Profanity is the effort of a weak mind to express itself forcefully."

I'd prefer the yell to...

Having Coach Morrill holler dogpile and jump on top! I cannot see why any player would come to the State of Utah and play basketball for any other Coach or Program than the one run at USU. By far the best product for the money year in and year out. The Y comes and goes, who knows what's going on at the U... but winning with adequate talent is a thing of beauty with Coach Morrill. I'd prefer my 10% in Logan - but it's not my call...

Nice to see Morril defuse the debate by issuing an immediate apology. It's never a good idea to launch vulgarity at an opposing player, but it's also not the end of the world and we should all move on. Morril is in the middle of the WAC tournament and he and his players don't need the distraction. This is not even in the same league as the Alford incident, but even that has been way overhyped as far as I'm concerned. I care a whole lot more about what happens in the game than what happens on the sidelines. Morril is a great coach and won't remember or care about this by tomorrow.

Re:Ernest D Bass

Did we say it wasn't appropriate, the reprimand??? Put it this way, let's pretend your a coach Ernest which we know in real life wouldn't happen, but humor me for a minute . . . you've got a kid that is wearing a face plate because 2 games before he fractured his face in multiple places (still with me), so NMSU player jumps on top of your players face in an attempt to smash his face and smash his face mask into his face, (still with me), as Coach Ernest D do you let that happen? If you do then I get why you live on a message board, posting about teams that aren't even yours. Speaks volumes about the "space" that you come from:)

Say no more Ernest.

Well Said
