Quit Complaining!!

Marsden needs to quit complaining about the scores this year. He's the one who petitioned for a new scoring system!! It's tough when things don't always go your way!!!! The Utah team is not as good as last year's team. They don't have that STAR on the team anymore and their recruits for next year aren't as strong as they have been. Face it Marsden!! The tide has turned and not in your favor anymore!!!!

Agree...

I agree with some of what "Quit Complaining" has said. Every week we hear how the judges deducted for this or that...the Marsdens got what they wanted in a new scoring system. The sad thing I see is there is no motivation by anyone on this team. And that includes coaches. It seems like everyone else is waiting for someone to take charge. The simple solution...Greg take charge of your team. No more standing back and hoping others will.
It is now time to quit bragging about the past ten championships and change your ways and try to win your first national championship. (How many years has it been?) 15 years!!!!!!!!

Sandy Woolsey

Greg is explaining not complaining. He's explaining how a subjective system that well is subjective. It's the white elephant in the room and everyone sees it but doesn't get it, not sure if anyone ever will. The judges are only human and I'm sure they are figuring things out too. Let me assure you Greg is not letting himself or the girls use this as an excuse! The next Championship will come there's a lot more great gymnasts than in the past. Go Utes!!

Part of coaching in any sport that involves judging or referees is getting a read on what the judges see or how the referees are calling the game, and making adjustments. In basketball, if the refs are "letting them play", it means one thing to players and coaches. If they are calling every nudge and grab a foul, it means something entirely different. Greg and Megan (and the Lady Utes) are trying to get a read on the judging in the new system, and inconsistencies in judging are hampering adjustments. Incidentally, where Greg called for changes is in the format at Nationals. The changes in judging is by a body not prone to caring too much what coaches want. Incidentally, Quit Complaining and Agree, Greg and Megan do not resting on past laurels. They are well aware of how long it has been since the last title for Utah. It seems the two of you are more concerned with comparisons to the past than the Marsdens.

Go T Birds

Keep an eye on the T Birds from Southern Utah this Friday. Elise Wheeler is as good a gymnast as there is in the country.

Re: Go T Birds

I agree that Elise Wheeler will give the Utah girls all they can handle. Plus, she is an all-arounder!!! I only hope she gets the scores she deserves being the meet is at the Huntsman Center!! Greg Marsden has a monopoly on the judges he gets for his meets!! Judges QUIT fearing Marsden and be fair to all the participants!!! I also agree that Greg needs to take control of his team! I also agree that this years' team is not as good as it has been. I don't see the UTES winning a National CHampionship any time soon.
