My sister had problems with her kidneys and was told to drink cranberry juice every day along with more water than she was already drinking.
It helped her.
That was probably for a kidney infection, not kidney failure.
Swollen legs and ankles for a few weeks finally prompted me to go to the doctor at the ripe old age of 21. Imagine my surprise when the Dr. told me I had kidney disease. It was the last thing on my mind. I had no diabetes, was not overweight, enjoyed an active lifestyle. . . It can happen to anyone. I believe that statistically speaking, 1 on 9 people will have kidney disease in their lifetime. Those are not good odds.
Anyway, nine years later I still deal with it, but luckily it seems to be doing better. Unfortunately for most with CKD, I don't think it gets better.
1 IN (not "on") 9. . .sorry.
