Beating puppy,Over a Break up!

GET A GRIP>Bad Behavior<
I dont think that would bring back his girl friend.by taking Beating her puppy!

Lippyliston

RIGHT ON

Sadly enough

The defense attorney on this case is trying to make this violent criminal a victim. While this is probalby the only possible defense the atty had to work with, it is still offensive to read this defense atty's mindless perverse dribble making excuses for his client. This is ajoke and not even a remotely funny one at that.

It is also offensive that I know of people who have done similar things to their children and to the children of others who have not been prosecuted and sentenced with this same amount of zeal and desire for justice by more than a few county atty's accross the state of UT.

He needs to Grow up..

And get a Evaluation Angry management Program plus stay away from our West Valley Community!

Anyone with a name like Spitle should be given a brake.

Utah man.

He'll do a few months to a yr. We're so busy making everything a felony these days that the prisons just can't hold everyone. Yes what he did was wrong. Yes he needs to be punished for it. But I've seen plenty of human's nearly killed in fights. And the person that did the beating gets jail time. Jail and prisons are two different things people. Hey i'm upset at stupid drivers, lets make them in felons too.

Leslie

Violent offenders start with animals and move to people. Animals should be protected simply because they cannot protect themselves, and violent people should be shown that society is not going to put up with violence, even if it is toward an animal and not a person.

Jason

This guy has a history of violence and abuse. He deserves to be thrown in jail, a total scumbag.

Liberty

Leslie,

Violent people are often violent towards inanimate objects as well. Should we make violent outbursts and kicking the turf a felony as well?

Little kids use magnifying glasses to burn ants. They pull legs off of grasshoppers. Most do not become mass murderers.

Our laws concerning animals should be about setting a rational ethical standard, not some sort of weird utopian theory that by stopping what we currently view as cruel will save all humankind.

Amy

This is just beyond disgusting. Such a sick person, glad hes put away, he deserves more than just prison. Wish I could kick him in the head.

How about we send people to jail for beating humans too? Sentences for domestic abuse are too light.

observing

Anonymous' remark about domestic abuse is right on.

Jon

Does anyone know how this poor pitiful little pooch is doing? I think they should throw this evil man in prison for life, or Lethal injection might work.

Dude The Girl is Done with You!

Get it she does not ever want to be near you)

what a Cruel Story
I have NO pity for this person she Dated!
who does some Cruel Act of Torture to her Pet-Pup-
Resident of West Valley

Stephanie

Liberty, you are so far off the mark.... a agree with Leslie. With one exception.. this horrible act was directed at his girlfriend. The weak prey on weaker, then they prey on the defenseless. And i think that Henry's law is totally justified! And Liberty,
you better check your facts again, there IS a direct link between animal abuse and other crimes. If not stopped now... then when? And there was nothing "rational" about what this - "i will use the term loosely- man" did. Do you think that a person who will willingly, torture a defenseless puppy, with Some twisted idea that this would make his girlfriend NOT leave him, will really Stop there??? It would only be a matter of time before she, or some other person was another headline. Then it would be ,We should have, or we could have. THIS TIME WE DID. For him there won't be a next time. Maybe this will send a message to those who are out there, that think that the law does not apply to them!

Puppy had Survived Hit on Head

Back with the Owner,his exgirlfriend.
Not sure But Ive heard this before

Kate

Liberty, explain to me how it is not rational or ethical to punish people who hurt those who are defenseless? And for those who direct their anger at inanimate objects - well, it IS a crime if it is not your property and you damage it. Violence in any form is a huge red flag, according to millions of psychiatrists.

"Little kids use magnifying glasses to burn ants. They pull legs off of grasshoppers. Most do not become mass murderers."
And most little kids stop this behavior when it is explained to them that it's wrong.

And yes, it has been proven time and time again that many people who are violent towards animals will become violent toward people. This was not just animal cruelty, it was domestic abuse! He was using the dog to try and control his girlfriend.

I agree that domestic violense sentences are often too light, but that doesn't mean that animal cruelty shouldn't be punished as well.

Steve of the north

Once again we see how the vengeance-minded citizens of the U.S. of A. love to throw everyone in jail. What a country! The one growth industry you folks have is prisoners. Is there any country on earth with more of its citizens on a per capita basis in the slammer? Somebody better help the U.S. The country needs it.

I agree with Utah man. This is a stupid sentence, how can this man get a felony when another man who fights another man and then runs him over only gets a misdemeanor. You say that it is intent? I say that it is ridiculous.

I mean, when my husband's former room-mate had my cat euthanized without permission (my husband, then fiance), I was furious! Do you think that it made any difference to anyone. But it was still a cat, not a human being!

Animal lovers have made our society go nuts. I step on snails. Should I go to jail?

We are throwing everyone in jail and prison these days. Come on! I am ready to move out of the state of Utah. This place is crazy.
