really likes this. The cynic in me is strangely silent...
I think what might be called "cowboy ethics" is what the Utah legislature has been promoting all along. No consequences for accepting bribes from lobbyists.
This aint no western movie!
What we really need is "real ethics reform."
So basically they just spent a whole bunch of time and money to pass a law that will have no affect what so ever in anything what so ever???
YEAH!!! for "smaller" government!!!*roll-eyes*
Are "ethics reform" ever used to try to assert power and control when one has consistently lost at the ballot box?
In most states not considered "western," this is called "cowboy mentality" and it isn't seen as intelligent nor respected, but an archaic way of continuing in the same old paths, whether any of them reach a destination or not. The word ETHICS means something. Maybe the first step might be to look it up in a dictionary and make sure everyone is on the same PAGE.
In today’s corporate environment ethics, accountability, and responsibility are vital to conduct business in an equitable and responsible manner. Frameworks are in place to help good people make the tough decisions. Why is it so hard for the government that we elect to be held to a similar or higher standard? Look at what is happening in New York and even in our front yard. A bill needs to be drafted that will lead to transparency in all decisions. Let’s not continually be led by special interest groups through our elected officials! ARE YOU LISTENING TO THE PEOPLE?
It sounds like this is something that should be adopted for Congress, each state, lawyers and everyone down the line. Love it.
Listen to Cowboy Logic by Michael Martin Murphey...google it. Here's a line "If it's a job, do it. Put your back in to it.
'Cause a little bit of dirt's gonna wash off in the rain
If it's a horse, ride it. If it hurts, hide it.
Dust yourself off and get back on again.
That's cowboy logic, every cowboy's got it"
I wish I lived in Wyoming. Can't wait to travel there again. Ya Whooo!
Those ethics should be pasted on every classroom in America.
You used "admonished" in the wrong context.
makes me want to move there now.
Words that REAL Americans can live by. I can only hope that I live by them, but I try. That's a lot more than the slime in DC can say.
Go Wyoming!

So wat, get over it and move on!
Good Code. Beats city ethics all to heck. Especially in States not considered Western.
It would have been nice if the code was published as part of the article.
Great to see movement to common sense, which something folks in Washington have never had.
It's a far cry from the Democrats code in DC.(Code Pink. Great Job,Dave F
Admonished was not used incorrectly. Admonish can mean either rebuke or advise. I didn't know that until I looked it up.
I saw Owens speak at a conference in Sheridan and bought his book. Great ethics to live by!
Admonish is used correctly. Good stuff
That seems like a reminder of the morals that make a man a man.
