YES...... I love it way to go Lobos... Ha ha ha to all the Cougar fans out there!
What a game! Too bad the Cougars couldnt have pulled it out.
Worst possible time for Fredette to fall ill again but great effort by Loyd to pick up the slack.
I loved watching those classy cougar fans throw stuff on the court at the new mexico players after the game. What a joke, glad I am in no way associated with that University and their classless fans.
Excellent job Cougars, way to play your hardest! Too bad there were so many terrible calls by the referees though. I imagine there would have been a completely different turn out if the calls were made better and not so much favored towards New Mexico. Go BYU!!!
Wow really diappointed in this game. I am as big of Jimmer supporter as anyone but he really let his team down today. I know Junior High kids who play with stomach aches. I thought he was a tough competitor, maybe I am wrong. Loyd played great, he played with a lot of heart. I can't believe Hartsock got swatted like that, he is the last guy on the court you want taking the shot, Emery was wide open behind him. I guarentee you BYU will be at least a 7th seed, the committee always seeds them low. Remember last year when everyone thought they were a 5 seed and they ended up getting an 8 seed.
Yes Lobos!!!! Now the team ranked in the true rankings showed how to do it---beat'em on the home floor. Kinda like FSU in football!!!!!
Now no 2 peet, 3 peet, peet, peet when they only tie for the league championship. Chant when you really do something.
Great college basketball game. Fredette's absence was more than offset by Michael Loyd's 19 points--all in the second half.
So much for home court advantage. Nice preview of 1st round NCAA tourney loss.
I am off the Jimmer Fredette bandwagon for good. The biggest game of his career and of the season and he sits out with a Stomach ache????? Not a sprain, not a strain, not even a bruise a tummy ache. What a gutless move by the teams so called leader. You think hey would be able to man up and play but I guess not.
Shame on BYU fans throwing things at New Mexico. And you have the nerve to call other schools in the MWC low class....Face it the better team won.
BYU is clearly overrated. They can't beat RPI top 40 teams. One and done in March, mark it down.
serving Fredette a bad burrito before the game is unsportsmanlike of the Lobos. If this had been church ball Bobo's would have lost on sportsmanship points....
I think its funny when we fans talk about class regarding sports. Everyone has their own definition, and lets be honest, in sports there is no class. The point is to prove your better then your opponent, where is the class in that. Also, where is the class for ref's who call one sided games or coaches who yell and get in the face of opposing teams players after the game. I think New Mexico and the refs got what they deserved after the game.
BYU will not win a game in the NCAA tourney until they get some kind of inside offense game and good post defense. Since that is something that should have already taken place, it is way to late. Good luck next year.
BYU allowed too many offensive rebounds by UNM. Almost all the 2nd chance shots by UNM resulted in scores. 1st half defense was atrocious. Lloyd was awesome. Fredette's absence is NOT what lost this game for the Cougs.
Listened on the Internet. All credit to UNM, and conceding that Rubell is a homer (and I mean that in a good way), it sounded to me like the refs were penalizing the crowd all game long--not calling obvious Lobo fouls. If refs want to insert themselves into the game, they should at least be evenhanded about it.
I never want to hear BYU fans crying about UNLV, UNM, and Utah. Your fans were just busted on national TV throwing stuff at the the UNM players after the game. Provo--the West Virginia of the West.
I have to disagree with BYU Fan, the calls were terrible, but the refs favored the home team way more than UNM. New Mexicos players were getting hammered in the paint and not a whistle was blown. Then Jackson Emery gets touched by someone in red and he's on the line shooting. The Mountain West refs are shameless in calling games of their favorite team (BYU). What about the Chris Mile's charge that gave him an and one? Then when Hobson did the same thing...Foul! Five point swing right there. BYU was lucky to lose by 2, should have been 10.
Hey Carlos! At least we don't go around punching other players in the face like that classless university does up North. What a joke!
