This is criminal defense work at its most ridiculous. Donald Younge killed at least three people in Illinois, and got of on a technicallity. Now, his attorneys are trying to get him off of a Utah murder on a technicallity. What happened to justice?

The question is

what the heck has happened to the integrity of LAWYERS? Why would any self-respecting attorney attempt to get a multiple murderer off on such grounds? Ridiculous--and self serving.

I once asked an attorney acquaintance of mine why he had defended an obviously guilty party--his reply? "Money." Is this the case here?

Our constitution provides that a person should have a trial by their peers--and we provide legal representation for the accused. But it is to ensure that the defendant gets a fair trial--not to get the guilty parties off. That is NOT justice!

Room and board

Maybe the lawyer should let Younge move into his house until the trial is over.

Have any of you peole heard of the constitution? Are you aware that the attorneys must do everything within their ability to defend their client? Are you aware that when attorneys "get people off" the reason is generally mistakes made by the police and prosecutors? Are you aware that everyone is innocent until "proven" guilty? Did you pay attention to the article where it states the DNA found in the apartment apparently does not match the defendent? Do you want to be sure of someone's guilt before you put a needle in their arm and execute him, or would you prefer finding out years later after he is dead?

justice for all

This is obviously not a wonderful citizen; but the fact the prosecutors office has charged him should not give us confidence. They presented evidence stating he was not in the state at the time of the murder; and they were so convinced of his guilt that they went to the lab to get the DNA results which show this wasn't there man. Yet in a political year the pursue a capital case against a questionable suspect. We do have an obligation to bring the right person to trial. The entire case smells worthy of suspicion.

(Directed to: the question is) Uhh... do you know how much a public defense attorney gets paid? If you think it's for the money, think again -google it. Given the fact you can NOT prosecute someone without a defense attorney you could not find someone guilty... or innocent.

@ room and board: are you ignorant or just stupid?
