This is the ONLY thing PCE has done that I agree with. The Carson Smith voucher program should be more important that trampling on the US flag and constitution. The legislature might be inclined to think differently, and that means they need to find the money elsewhere, such as the funds going to these special needs children.

Nah

Let's spend the money on silly challenges to the federal government rather than helping people with special needs children. It's the Utah legislature, after all.

Robyn Bagley, PCE Board Chair

To Anonymous - We'll take that vote of confidence. Thank you for recognizing the great value of this program!

As the mother of a special

son, I'd have been eternally grateful if my state had had such a program.

Following the advice of extremely competent professionals in the field of his disabilities, I chose not to enroll him in our local school's disability programs. I had friends whose children were enrolled, friends who taught in the programs, and a daughter (special ed minor) who worked in the program, also. ALL of them agreed that the mixed-program, trying to meet the needs of ALL sorts of disabilities, didn't met the needs of ANYONE very well.

So we chose to home-school our son. He is functioning so much better than anyone we know who went thru our local school system. He is an adult now and has served an LDS service mission and is a great joy to work with. But there were areas that I could have used help with and no such help was available in my state.

Don't give up this program!

I don't knokw if there is means testing, but it would go a long way in helping keep this program for those who really need it.
