This book takes a very serious and potentially fatal illness and examines it with a clear-eyed analysis, remarkably, all within the framework of a page-turning novel. It will reward the reader with insights, and most importantly of all, realistic hope.

I really enjoyed reading Being Sixteen. As a mother, it was good for me to remember what it is like to be 16 and the emotions that teenagers have that adults tend to forget about. Ally did a wonderful job reminding me of this as well as alerting me to signs of eating disorders all while providing a very enjoyable, page turning book to read. Thanks Ally!

This book is very good for anyone to read. Being a mother of many daughters I especially appreciate this book for the insight it gives about the many challenges that teenage girls face. Thanks for the wonderful read! I can't wait to share it with my girls.

My granddaughter has read all 3 of your teen books, and has loved them. Is "Being Sixteen" to mature a theme for a 12 yr. old? I was thinking about getting it for her for Easter. Maybe her mom should read it first, and then after My granddaughter reads it, they can talk about some things.. Your opinion would be greatly appreciated. (Alexa is a very grown-up 12 yr. old if that makes a difference).
