They are anything but cautious! They are just contunuing the same spending spree of the last year. Their fearless marxist leader is leading them and us off the cliff. We need to say no to anymore spending until we get a grip on what has already been passed.
This is a lot of wasted time and energy to propose that this bill is the end-all-be-all Health Care plan. The things that will work are being overlooked to improve the health insurance already in place.
Is the king not listening to his subjects? The terms are not defined, the way it is to be funded is also vague. No amount of time or writing will change THIS IS JUST A BAD IDEA. Clinton's tried this early on in the administration and it was shot down so quickly. It is about controlling one sixth of our economy by a doomed government entity. Why is the government's track record being addressed. There is too much opportunity for fraud already. Why do we need more to push our economy over the edge? Washington is deaf to what the people want. Must we be ignorant too?
We need to revive our CONSTITUTION(AL) base and vote OUT the perpetrators wanting for our government collapse if it is NOT stopped soon.
All the stimulus money is being hoarded. And what happens when the banks are bankrupt?
Cra$h of 1929 all over again? History repeats itself.
Obamacare:
Dont.
Do.
It.
What's needed:
- Tort reform
- Cross-state lines competition of insurance companies
- As much as possible (which is waaaaay more than Dems think), get the fed gov't out, OUT, O-U-T of the business of health care
My argument? Since when has the fed gov't EVER run a large program efficiently and effectively and on budget?
Such much for the theory that Obama was going to have to moderate and learned that the nation isn't happy with this legislaton after Scott Brown's victory in Massachussetts.
I can't believe that he and the Dems would use such a subversive, seldom used step in the Senate to pass this unpopular piece of legislation. Cramming it down the countries throat after the country has already clearly said no to this proposed legislation is a major blunder.
One thing is for sure. If Obama and his cronies decide to go the route of pushing this through the Senate in the shady manner in which this article references, there will be backlash and a major price to pay unlike anything we have seen yet.
People are already on edge as we now know from the Senate race results in liberal Massachussetts. Any Senate or house Dems that play along with this tactic (and many that don't) will pay a major price in the next election and beyond if they choose to cooperate and go this route.
you seem to be taking a lot of short cuts through reality today first off "the king" as you call him was voted into office in no small part due to his promise to the voters to do exactly what he is doing. You remember the voter’s right? the ones they you claim need to stand up for their constitution(al) rights. The ones that used their right and voted for this change that you and the minority republican party want block? So my question is why are you and the republicans trying to act like fascist in blocking the will of the majority of people that voted for this president (not king) and congress because they ran on this platform of health insurance reform? It seems to me that you are the one trying to take away peoples constitutional right to decide.
This bill is a bad idea. What is needed is a single payer system like the rest of the world. Include tort reform just for kicks.
Republicans will lose if they run on overturning it.
I'm right. Wasteful Diagnostics Making Healthcare Unaffordable thanks to the de-regulation's from RINO's, Moderates and liberal GOP?. CAT scans. Blood tests. Ultrasounds. Cesarean sections. In many instances, these examples of diagnostic tools and procedures are vital to treat a patient. However, physicians say that too often these tests and procedures are ordered unnecessarily and drive up the cost of medicine for patients, taxpayers and insurance carriers. The result, according to a new poll of the nation's physicians released by Gallup and Jackson Healthcare this week, is that an astounding one in four dollars now spent on health care in this country is on unnecessary medical care. The reason is simple. Doctors order these tests, treatments and procedures to protect from being sued. It is a safety valve that helps protect them from frivolous lawsuits as trial lawyers seek an easy payout, particularly after a doctor makes a simple mistake. Doctors simply don't want to lose everything they’ve worked for their entire lives on a minor error. As a result, American patients across the country not only endure extra hours of tests, treatments and medication but are paying much more in healthcare costs.
Sorry but you are wrong and the doctors are either full of it or buying into the lie their insurance companies are telling them. The reality is that lawsuits only make up about 5% of all medical cost. The solution is to call out the insurance and pharmaceutical industries when they spread these lies.
Look this trillion of dollars are going to be lost in the burocracy of the goverment, this not what We the people want, it is time to stop the OBAMA care reform or we are going to be sorry for years to come. While he is wasting valueable time in his agenda, Obama should be working in creating more jobs for the american people or did he forgot he got elected for this reason but no he still dreaming with his reform care system, well Mr. Obama if you want to have your socialized medicine move to Cuba they will give you a free check up.

Reply back : Sorry, but I'm right.

If the truth hurts, you then have to be a liberal.
Obama's "fix" to healthcare doesn't address the major problem: the delivery system itself. Comparative measures of cost and quality are not visible to consumers.
A procedure can cost many times more in one facility than at its competitor a short distance away, but with the current system, the consumer never knows. The hospital model of trying to treat everything with insurance companies running all the money, blocks important information from ever reaching the patient. Me, my wife, and my two children visit the doctor, and I never know how much it's going to cost me until I get a bill from the insurance company. Even then, the true cost is hidden from view.
Incentives, technology, and education are desperately needed to modernize the delivery engine. Obama's proposal addresses none of this.
The problem Obama has, is not the Republicans, it is his own Democcrats in Congress. They are terribly fractured, especially in the House. Without the Stupak amendment on eliminating any funding for abortion, it will never pass the House. Even with the amendment in the original House bill, it only passed by three votes.
The Premier of Canada said: "This is my heart, my choice, and my health." Glad you had the option of coming to America while we still had the best health care system in the world.
I'm glad we all are students of history and understand just how well mandatory price controls work. They worked so well for the former Soviet Union, and led to people standing in line for hours at a time when they didn't even know what the line was for.. only that they should in order to get something worthwhile. But at least the guaranteed "price" they paid was set by the government.
the truth is what it is regardless of your twisted reality, the reality is malpractice suites make up 5% of medical cost. If doctors are ordering all these extra procedures to "cover themselves” then they are the ones wasting the money not the lawyers.
the best healthcare system in the world? Really? Are you delusional?
It is pretty obvious that the two agendas both right and left only see a part of the elephant. While it may be true that law suits may only account for 5-6% of all medical costs, the ugly truth is 20 to 25 % of a doctors gross income is used to purchase Mal-practice insurance. So lets just say a doctor does 100 births a year and for that his practice bills out $500,000 his insurance premium would be around $100,000 he may never get sued but his insurance cost is $1000.00 per birth. The remainder is spread around the practice to pay for clerks and nurses and other support personnel along with paying his portion of the rent and supplies. The problem with the remainder is that the $500,000 he bills is shrunk down by none other than the insurance companies to where he may bill one amount and only get back a portion of that amount. If you had true tort reform you could pull 25 t0 40 % out of the cost of medical care tomorrow.
We have to figure a way to get Insurance companies out of the mix.not happening
I totally disagree that 58% want some form of insurance reform this year. I believe most Americans want congress to start over - from scratch - and craft something that doesn't raise taxes or cut medicare. Also, something that doesn't cost 1 trillion !!!! If the dems ram this through then November will be a blood bath politically for the dems.
Please learn what a Marxist is before you start throwing the term around. You make yourself look very foolish and ill informed. A Marxist would be completely disgusted by these reforms. Anyone with any kind of historical sense or a grasp on reality can see that these reforms are far from radical. Get a grip please, for the sake of the country turn off Glen Beck and read a book.
You, and those like you, are the ones leading this nation off a cliff. Any common sense proposal made by a moderate from either party is derided as communism or socialism, not that you would know the difference. Any form of compromise is considered selling out. Your ideological rigidity is impractical and unrealistic and draws from years of ill informed popular history and political myth, currently propagated by the right wing media. It seems that nothing but a stale mate and the eventual dissolution of the Union will quench your thirst for the demise of this great union. I hope for our sake on for what the brave men of ht past have left us that you and those like you will cease your destructive behavior.
