Funny Gunny

Wish I lived in the State of Utah.

Lets go back to wild west and start having duels in street at noon!!! Idiotic bill If I have ever seen one.

Dixie Dan

Let me get this right. If I am being confronted by a police officer who I feel is wrong, I can flash my gun at them? That should prove to be interesting.

Stu Strickler

There will be no wild west in the streets. If I am carrying a firearm [I will be] and you try to rob me, would you rather I warn you or just shoot you? It's your choice!

Reason

Great bill. I hope the governor signs it.

Charles Bronson

I Fully support this bill!

James Tidgwell

Great bill. It shows that Utah has more common sense than the majority of the country. Hope it spreads to other states soon.

Mike

Wish ny had some common sense laws instead of the arrogance that runs rampant here!!

guns don't kill people. people kill people.

Stacy

Wild west in the street? Flashing a gun at a Police Officer? WOW what ignorance!!! Educate yourself before you open your mouth.

Flashed Guns Save Lives

Flashed guns have saved more lives than they have taken. (Fact look it up)

NONPRODUCTIVE

Based on the comments I made at work regarding this, they say

"No wonder you moved away from those weird people in Utah!" and

"I'm sure never going out there for a visit!",

"I hope our company never tries to transfer me out there!"

"Let 'em point the guns at each other!"

"Do they let them load them as well as 'flash' them?"

"Sounds like a bunch of little kids!"

Score - Utah=Dumb people 100% - Of course I am an exception because I moved 5 years ago, but I do have family there so I maintain an interest.

My opinion is that Utah looses even discussing such ideas even if it does not pass !

Vernie

The Brady Bunch rates States by their arbitrary scale that rates states by their conformity to the Brady Camps efforts to eliminate firearms and their use. So If Utah scores a zero then we must still have more common sense than states like -oh- New Jersey.

Sam

Fact: Bears eat beets. Guns beat bears. Guns beat beets.

Fact: More guns = less crime.
Fact: Law abiding citizens create 0% of crime.
Fact: Criminals create 100% of crime. Criminals have guns.
Fact: Flashing is great. (unless you are oprah or dr phil)

Doug

This law will save lives and prevent crime.
Good on Utah!

gun owner

thank god I live in utah
what a great alternitive
giving the criminal a choice to back off or I will defend

Guns Solve Nothing

Following the logic of the "gun flashers", if everyone carries a gun in plain sight, no one will commit a crime. You forgot to consider one variable, how well can you control your temper when someone else looses theirs? Can you justify shooting someone because you felt threatened? You'll need a lot more training than they provide in the concealed carry classes.

Cylar

Sigh. Utah may have scored 0 in the Brady Bunch rating, but my home state of California got a 70, I think. Highest in the nation. It is a shame that I cannot simply up and move to a common-sense state like the land of the Great Salt Lake.

That bill sounds like a great idea, and shame on all the morons who claim it's going to result in bullets flying hither and yon. They say the same idiotic things every time some politician proposes loosening the gun control laws, and somehow this dread scenario never seems to materialize. But the gun grabbers never admit they're wrong; being a leftist means you never have to say you're sorry.

Carl

Great law Utah! As the saying goes,Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. I've carried since the late 60s and in that time have had to "Flash" a gun twice, once in defence of my wife and myselfe and another just myselfe. In both case the individuals chose door#2 and violence was avoided, had they chosen otherwise they would not have lived to regret it. Ours is not the utopian world some would like us to believe, and we not only the rite, but the responsibility to defend ourselves. When seconds count the police are only minuyes away, unfortunatly they are usualy only able to arrive in time to clean up the mess after the fact. No offence intended BUT they can't be every where all the time.

Dirty Harry

Wild West theory is actually good thing. Everyone open carried and everyone respected each other more and there was less violence and less verbal altercations. I support this 100%.
