Health insurance premiums would start increasing prior to getting under the Obamacare umbrella which will not be in effective until 2015 which would be dependent on nuclear option being worked out in Congress now.

The sweet tease of victory over health care reform gets sweeter.

I SMELL MANIPULATION

A 39 percent increase is sure evidence of Obama Administration manipulating the situtation to scare Americans into thinking that Obamacare is vital and the answer to all of these problems. Create a "strawman" like this, and like Rahm Emmanuel said, "Never let a good crisis go to waste.." And bingo -- Socialism. At least, therei s still an alternative to Athem Blue Cross in California. In private sector. If Obama care goes in, then it will lead to only one -- a monopoly by the Federal Government with no choice, lowered standards of care, higher costs, and little freedom of choice.

Executive Brief

If I were an executive in an industry demonized in the media and with pending legislation that will infringe on the industries free enterprise, I would raise rates now in a heart beat.

This is a natural business reaction to intrusive governmental policies.

On the other hand, if I were an executive in an industry who had collaborated with regulators in meaningful discussion about true reform, I would have allowed the market to balance and settle before making changes to costs.

Providers.

I keep hearing people complain about health care insurance but none of them are talking about health care providers, the real criminals in health care costs. The providers in corporate fraud in health care costs have escalated the cost of insurance by rampant and fraudulent claims to insurance. If people want to complain about health care insurance they better first take a look at their hospital and corporate provider costs bills.

Insurance does have its problems, but the bigger problem is fraudulent billing and charges to insurance. Scrutinize your bill before you put all the blame on insurance. If you don't then you can't complain about insurance costs either.

Providers? who cares, when you have insurance it's all free.
