LA Tech played a good game. Aggies were amazingly tough down the stretch with Pooh Williams having a monster second half.
This sets up a great bracket buster game Saturday. Here's to making it 12 in a row stew!
Go Big Blue!!!
What a great game to watch. Although, my voice would feel better if it wouldn't have been so close. Pooh rocked in this game. The Aggies showed great toughness and maturity.
p.s. did anyone else see the awesome screen Jardine put on Guyton when he was in the full-court press against Quayle? That was hilarious! Opposing guards, take note - if you press the Aggs, you'd better watch where you're going or you'll get a back adjustment courtesy of Brady Jardine or Tai Wesley.
Pooh's 3 pointer in transition was the turning point of the game. Thank you boys for making my 21st birthday the best ever. Now let's finish up the season with a WAC championship and play hard in the tourney.
GO AGGIES!!!!
Wish I could have seen this game! Way to go Aggies!
Keep up your great run!
Seriously, the Aggies needed someone to come up big at the end of that game and without his play in the last 7 or so minutes Utah State would not have won.
After that 3 pointer and the successive eruption of pandemonium from a bottled up group of riotous Aggie fans, he just became this psycho unstoppable ninja pulling off one insane-acrobatic-layup after another, for lack of a better way to describe it.
I can just see his thoughts, "Oh 6 hands between me and the basket and a hole the size of an orange to put this basketball through? No problem, I'll just pull out some crazy magic and stun the entire Bulldog team, Spectrum and ESPN2 audience, no big deal.
I love watching him play when he's on.
I LOVE watching these guys play....
Good luck in Wichita!
but hard to watch. LT played great and had the right game plan to win the game, but in the very end they fell just short of the mark (Thankfully). So a big time Kudos to LT for a well played game. If we meet again in the conference tourney it will be too soon.
What a great game! La. Tech is for real. They really were playing for their lives, and it showed. It was great to see the Aggies weather that storm or talent, effort, and athelticism, and come out on top. Great teams win, and that is exactly what the Aggies have been doing. Can't wait for the Bracketbuster on Saturday. I will be there screaming my guts out. Go State!!!

Thank you from me as well Pooh, and thanks to the earlier poster for writing that! :-)
After watching the game LaTech is one team that I hope is the 2 or 3 seed and they don't drop any lower. I wouldn't want to play them until the WAC Championship Game! They will be a hard out in the WAC Tournament! I would rather Play Nevada in the Semi's on their home court than LaTech!
Great win.
Go Aggies!
Pooh Williams. Hands down. But serious props to Bendall on his huge play off Pooh's missed FT. And Quayle also quietly had a great game. The guy came out with a double double although no one really knew it (13 points, 10 rebounds). And he had ZERO turnovers despite being chased all over the floor last night. So solid. Love this Aggie team. Can't wait for Saturday!
The crowd was amazing! The student section chants are awesome! That is an unbelievable college basketball environment. Kudos to whoever donated the Ag rags. They made a huge impression on the environment.
This was a great effort by a team that seems to find a way to win. They have come together very well and are now showing signs of being a very good team. The Aggies will need to keep up the intensity though as they hed into tournament play.
Stew has the team playing with heart, poise and determination. Keep up the great effort!
I love theses guys.
Another publication had Pooh Williams as saying after the game that he did not want to lose and he was gonna do whatever had to be done to win the game. It's not just Williams either. I see that same competitiveness and fire in Quayle and Wesley and even some of the others. That kind of mentality will take a team far and win many games when things aren't going too well like last night.
I've seen many great Aggie teams, last year included, but I don't think any of them matched the passion and heart of this year's team.
Nothing better than a good college basketball game. Watched this on TV and the environment was awesome. USU easily has the best/loudest/most origianl fans in Utah. Congrats on the win. Does anyone know what the fans were chanting as the game ended? Amrs were pointing back and forth from one side of the court to another as they chanted.
winning team losing team!!
@ Fantastic Game. The chant was started last year by a member of the Refrraction (USUs unofficial game day program of the Spectrum). The members of the Refraction point to the scoreborad and say "Is that not a scoreboard?" The fans chant back "Yes that is a scoreboard!" The score last night was 67 to 61. The Refraction will then say "Is that not a 67?" The fans reply "Yes that is a 67!" Refraction "Is that not a 61?" Fans "Yes that is a 61!" Then, the Refraction points to the winning team "Is that not the winning team?" Fans "Yes that is the winning team!" The refraction, pointing to the losing team "Is that not the losing team?" Fans "Yes that is the losing team!" Then we point at each team and scream "Winning Team, Losing team" over and over again. It really annoys the opposing team.
The whole chant goes like this:
(guys behind basket point at scoreboard) Is that not the scoreboard?
(student section points at the scoreboard) Yes that is the scoreboard!
Is that not a 68? (or whatever the score)
Yes that is a 68!
Is that not a 61?
Yes that is a 61!
Is that not the winning team? (guys point to Aggs)
Yes that is the winning team! (crowd points to aggs)
Is that not the losing team?
Yes that is the losing team!
Winning Team, Losing Team, Winning Team, Losing Team.... (crowd alternates pointing at Aggs and other team)
