Of course they want you to think that it's unscripted, and that Karl is really that oblivious. If they openly admitted that Karl's behavior is an act, then that would ruin the premise and the intrigue of the show (which is hilarious, by the way).
Ryan-My thoughts exactly! Why would they let on that it is an act? Then it might not be as fun or funny.
