Would be a lot more interesting had it been a Horatio Alger, not a Trump wealth creation story
It's nice to hear about others who use their resources to help others. That is ultimately what we are all here to do. Some are able to do it on a large scale, but most of us do it on a smaller scale. The size or amount is not what matters. What matters is that each of us believe and understand that we ALL have the ability to influence the world around us for good and then act with pure motives, expecting nothing in return. Yes he is a businessman and yes he makes a profit - nothing wrong with that - he is a good steward over his resources. A good example for all of us.
To HMMM: If the story had been Horatio Alger-esque, It would have been a good story, too. But why the small-hearted comment about this man doing good? Celebrate all good. Be grateful for all blessings.
Dear Hmmm,
Take it from one who has personally known Gary, Ann, and their family. This article is only an allegory of the iceberg. It has revealed merely one-eighth of their (and their relative's) true charity and generosity.
The Crockers are truly one of the most generous families I've ever known. I can confirm what the insider has said, it's just the tip of the iceberg.
Our family knows the Crockers too. If Gary or any of them read the comments here, I'd just like to extend a supportive voice. For me personally, the concept of drafting has been a significant one in my own life in general, and the capacity to be able to have disagreements that are resolved in a non-confrontational atmosphere are becoming things of higher value. How could a mission to cure cancer be unworthy? These sciences can do great things to advance a world for decreased suffering. God, and spirituality as well should simply be acknowledged as with all blessings we receive and so we would hope that God be with you. "Where much is given, much is required". Best to you in recognizing those gifts and requirements!
If only there were such mentors for the geophysical sciences, where incredible advances in technology which will change the world economics of energy go undeveloped.
GARY CROCKER is one of the most outstanding and influential leaders I have ever meet. In business, in society and in his family. I have had the opportunity to work with Gary for more than 10 years and he is truly remarkeble. We need more leaders like Gary to make things happen and improve the lives of those around us.
i used to work for Gary. He is the man.
I have worked with Gary at Utah Youth Village and know something about the depth of his wisdom, grace and humor. He is one of the best people I know.
The article should also note his failures such as Azenbio, a company he founded that failed shortly after a product was developed. Sometimes we fail even though we have succeeded...
