GOOD! I for one can't stand Kobe and his squad. Not to mention how bad I despise their "fans." If you ask me they are just a bunch of low life band wagoner's that have nothing better to do.
I agree with you. But you cannot tell that to the Refs. Watch the calls tonight and see if momentum is on the Jazz side that the fouls against the Jazz will pick up.
...no matter the team, is the most awful sport to watch. Hey Jazz Man's commets re:the refs, sum up why.
Jazz Playoff Chances - Part 1
The Jazz need to go 20-12 the rest of the way to maintain their current 64% winning percentage, which gets them to 52 wins.
That should be enough to make the playoffs, due to tie-breaker advantages they have over some of the Western Conference teams vying for playoff seeding.
However, if the Jazz could win ALL home games (13 more, including tonight's against the Lakers) and OVER half of their remaining road games (10 of 19), they'd be at 55 wins---plenty to make the playoffs.
IF the Jazz win the SAME home/away percentage as they've done SO FAR this year, they might NOT make the playoffs:
Home = win 10 of 13
Away = win only 8 of 19
for a total of 50 wins, which in the West is probably NOT good enough!
So, the Jazz' post-break road trip successes will be key to whether they make the playoffs.
Jazz Playoff Chances - Part 2
Four teams get played twice away from home:
Golden State (13-37)
Houston (27-24)
New Orleans (27-25)
Phoenix (31-21)
and all of these teams also played once at home.
That means the Jazz play three of the West teams vying for playoff seeding THREE TIMES EACH, with most of those games AWAY!
Of the Jazz' final 32 games, 12 of them are against only 4 teams, three of which are vying for a playoff spot---maybe even the very spot that the Jazz might be fighting for in the end!
Down the stretch, these three opponents (Houston, New Orleans, Phoenix) might be the key by beating each of them 2 out of 3 times, meaning win all home games and one of the two away games.
Jazz Playoff Chances - Part 3
Here are the current average records of Jazz future opponents:
Home
50%+ = 31-20 (8 teams)
Jazz Playoff Chances - Part 3
Here are the current average records of Jazz future opponents:
Home
50%+ = 31-20 (8 teams)
-50% = 17-34 (5 teams)
3 are tough, 2 are toss-ups, and 8 are "easy," with two of the East teams in the tough category.
Away
50%+ = 29-22 (11 teams)
-50% = 18-33 (8 teams)
5 are tough, 6 are toss-ups, and 8 are "easy," with none of the East teams in the tough category.
Overal
50%+ = 30-22 (19 teams)
-50% = 17-33 (13 teams)
With 19 +50% opponents and only 13 -50% opponents, the road to the playoffs is going to be tough for the Jazz.
Theoretically, the Jazz should win 10 home games and 14 away games (if they win ALL toss-ups), for a final season total of 56. That provides some leeway on the toss-up games.
The Jazz are hot NOW, but what happens away from home, well...
Good stuff Purple people eater
to win without Kobe and Andrew Bynum in the line up.
Love to hear Jazz fans go crazy over Kobe and how much they dislike him. Hate on Kobe all you want but Kobe knows how to win....not just games but championships.
Jazz fans say they are glad that he isn't playing but Kobe is probably the most crowd drawing player in the game today. (Lebron is a close second)
Go Lakers!
