Ah great. That just happens to be the game that I'm going to. Well, maybe it'll be like the RSL games where there is constantly noise and chants coming from the south end of the field.

Jazz fan in DC

Get some earplugs Travis and enjoy the atmosphere! It is a great thing to have fans who feel so passionate about their team!

Peanut Gallery

These are the kinds of fans nobody wants to sit by.....they are primarily at the sporting event to be SEEN rather than to watch and understand the game....its a social event for these guys, not so much a sporting event.

YAWN

Logic

Well 'Peanut Gallery', it's cynical people like you who try and suck the fun out of it and realize that it's just as much a social event as it is a sporting event. It's a game of BASKETBALL. Get your nose out of the air and you just may see that.

This is great. If the people sitting next to them don't like it being loud, they came to the wrong arena as it is, before the 'Rowdies' experiment.

Good GRIEF Peanut Gallery

It's a basketball game, not a tennis match. Your post made me YAWN.

Re: Peanut Gallery

You are probably one of those guys at a game that is about as loud as a Lakers fan at Staples. Never cheer, but the occasional bravo and small clap.

At least these guys try to get in the game. Nothing bothers me more than while at a game (especially a playoff game) the guy behind me tells me to sit down, (especially when everyone in front of me is standing up).

Maybe you need to stay home, and let people who will actually create a good atmosphere go to the game.

Jazz Fan

Amen

Peanut Gallery has a point though. There's a difference between getting into the game naturally and just being a loud doofus. I don't think the idea of the Rowdies is bad, but just because you where a gorilla costume and do a dance and get in peoples' way doesn't make you a bigger fan than me, sitting back and enjoying the sport.

I for one am really excited about this new rowdie section, what a great idea. ESA is already considered one of the most hostile arena's for visiting teams. Now it will be even more hostile. Hopefully these people will really get under the opponent's skin. As for Peanut Gallery, I was laughing out loud at some of the comments after your lame post. Hopefully you were just attempting to get a reaction. If not and you are serious, I feel really bad for you as you have clearly missed the whole point of being a true Jazz fan. We should be proud to have such devoted and exuberant fans. Prudish people like Peanut Gallery don't deserve to attend Jazz games nor consider themselves fans.

Yes, Utah Jazz fans love the game and love the noise. Yes, Utah Utes fans love their teams. Yes, BYU fans LOVE their teams.Yes, Utah has extremem vocal suportive fans!

Now if all of "Utah" fans could figure out how to LOVE their teams without being RABID toward other fans then the sports world could be perfect.

I have had more people than I can count (too many)come back from a sporting event telling me of the disgusting fans from "Utah" who were rude, rabid, and inappropriate. It has made me cringe inside thinking how much I wished fans could have fun without being offensive because what my friends meant (because they vocalized it)is "how can Mormons justify being fans like that?" I went on to state all those fans are not necessarily Mormons.
I would have preferred the religion aspect be left out. (although, probably BYU fans were...)

I hope the "Rowdies" can support their team without being offensive to others sitting around them... and be the example to all the other "Utah" fans.....

When I saw the first picture I thought I'd be interested in becoming a "rowdy." After scrolling though the rest of the images I realized that it's probably going to involve "shorties" too, so I'm not interested anymore.

Goldie

I happen to know the purple bear and rowdie is an understatement for him. They will be a lot of fun to watch. Great idea!

Henry Drummond

I want to see these guys seated behind the Laker Bench for the game tonight. They will drive Phil Jackson nuts.

Rowdie

Just so you are aware we "Rowdies" have rules to follow or our rowdie status is revoked and we lose our tickets. If you have a problem with us let us know. Hopw this will help you get into the game cause "You gotta love it BABY"

Bennie

Glad to hear they had some rowdies show up for the try out.

I remember when I had my season tickets the place was so loud the other teams hated it. The days of Stockton to Malone and the playoffs were so loud you couldn't hear anything afterwards.

Then the pots and pans and whistle that were used during those games.

Glad to hear they do have some rules for the rowdies. Don't enjoy having to sit by a bunch of drunk people at a game. They make it very unpleasant time.

So go rowdies. Glad to have you on board.

True Fan

Hey Peanut Gallery,

Go to the opera and give me your Jazz tickets.

Will the Rowdies...

...wear pink triangles on their lapels as a sign of their solidarity?

todd from santa ana

loyal rowdies make a difference and are the backbone of a teams popularity. It is nothing but good pr, such as those wild Chicago soccer fans, Columbus and The Galaxians and the Riot Squad, Seattle, DC United etc

The more the merrier it adds to the home court advantage

Rowdy Monkey

Awwww...

What a great debate. The Rowdy Monkeys will bring life back to ESA. Become our fan on facebook...(work in progress) Henry...find us three tickets behind Phil and the Monkies will do more than drive him nuts. Maybe we can get Ron Artest into the stands again for another Detroit incident!?! Tickets anyone??? Tickets?

GO JAZZ AND RSL

In soccer you see this, its great! They need to expand it! 85? They could get so many more!
