If a dog bites a man it's no more a story than cowards being wary.

Gibb's is a funny man

Stand up to objective scrutinity. Ha what a democrat joke. Like the deals in La and Neb or the plan that still is in it's formative stages?!

Be very careful in dealing with this administration.

Passing this Healthcare legislation as-is would be like passing legislation outlawing gas automobiles by the year 2014 but not providing an alternative.

Obviously this bill will eventually bring about the end of the Private Health Insurance market. Without a Public-Option to replace the Private-Option this bill will obviously make obsolete and unafordable to all but the richest of Americans... would be irresponsible (in my opinion).

If Congress is going to lay the land-mines intended to destroy private_insurance... They should at least have the honesty, compassion and forsight to also provide an alternative to save us when the inevitable colapse happens.

I think it's terrible for Congress to just pull the legs out from under the current system with nothing in place to replace it. And just hope the public cries out for them to save us with the inevitable second-shoe of at least the 'public-option' if not the ultimate progressive-DREAM of socialised-single-payer-Healthcare in America.

Once Government controls your healthcare... How could we EVER elect a Republican who wants to DECREASE Government Spending???

That would be like asking for DEATH (or at least no healthcare).

Best Course...

The best thing the Republicans could do is agree to share their health care reform ideas AFTER they get jobs and the economy back on track. Let American citizens see that they have their priorities straight and that Obama arrogantly continues to push his socialist agenda in the face of an increasingly aware citizenry.

Sorry, Obama. Your mandate was to do the work of the people, not to pursue your own far-Left utopian fantasies.

Warry? Obama has been courting republican ideas since March of last year on health care. They have made it public that they have no interest in doing anything except prevent *anything* from passing that Obama can get credit for.

It's the GOP who doesn't want to play with others or negotiate.

At the expense of those of us who are suffering from exploding health care costs and draconian insurance rules.

At least Obama is willing to fight for us.

Jud

So now the Republicans are thinking of staying home even after Obama has invited them to an open and televised discussion...which is what they've been asking for?

Best Course... | 9:50 a.m Expecting integrity from a party whose goal in to ruin American is like thinking you can teach a pig to sing.

This is ghetto logic were you burn down your neighborhood and cheer as the flames grow. Some learned this last week as the health care insurance increased 29%. You really showed Obama who is a millionaire with health care.

"California insurance regulators asked Anthem Blue Cross to delay controversial rate increases of as much as 39% for individual policies, hikes that have triggered widespread criticism from subscribers and brokers -- and now from the federal government.

In a rare step, the Obama administration called on California's largest for-profit insurer to justify its rate hikes, saying the increases were alarming at a time when subscribers face skyrocketing healthcare costs."

Keep cheering fools!

More to cheer about

"Cover Florida was designed to be what the state’s 3.8 million uninsured residents had been waiting for: an affordable, accessible alternative to expensive health insurance plans.

A year into the program, though, its leading insurer wants to raise premiums by 30 percent, citing figures showing a predicted 23 percent loss at the existing rates."

There was a time in Utah when playing dog in the manger wasn't seen as noble. This was a different Utah with morals that looked down on sophomoric name calling.

Better be warry

All taxpayers had better be very warry of Obama! Backroom sleazy deal making, vote buying, bribes for support and the largest waste of taxpayer money the world has ever seen in this so called "stimulus" Taxpayers have been handed a $13 trillion deficit that Obama wants to increase by almost 30% in one year! Warry is not strong enough word for Obama and his minions. Vote the bums out!

Thinkin' Man

What Obama calls "cooperation" is actually "capitulation" in true Chicago style. He wants conservatives to give up, and will twist a lot of arms to do it.

Don't give in! CUT spending, don't increase it!

GOP wary? paranoid? crazy?

"some privately worry that he might be laying a trap
to portray their ideas as flimsy."
because without the lies and spin of am radio and faux news
the public might see that indeed, their ideas are flimsy.

"Assuming the president is sincere about moving forward on health care in a bipartisan way, does that mean he will agree to start over?" said a letter to White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel from House GOP leader John Boehner of Ohio and GOP Whip Eric Cantor of Virginia.

bipartisan=He has to start over or he's the one not collaborating...
our way or the highway

"Liberal groups hope Americans will see the Republicans as obstructionists"
What liberal groups? The ones trying to trap the paranoid obstructionists into a meeting. please...

Locke

The current health care debate brings to light unbridgeable divides between liberals and conservatives. I would not expect true collaboration or compromising to come of this discussion. Because of the one-sided way current legislation was written, the ideological differences are too great for either side to give.

The only way around the divide is to back-track and start over. Only when some common ground is found and both sides are involved in drafting a bill will any legislation pass.

WHY we need quality healthcare

WE NEED FREE HEALTHCARE. Today, pediatricians treat children with high blood pressure, high cholesterol and even Type II diabetes. Teachers see bullying and teasing in class. School counselors see kids with depression and low self-esteem. Coaches see kids struggling to keep up or stuck on the sidelines. Obesity affects our economy as well. Our country spends nearly $150 billion treating obesity-related conditions like diabetes, heart disease and cancer. We can expect that number to grow unless healthy changes occur. Fast food chain McDonald's has teamed up with the Italian government to cook up a hamburger with a national twist, but the unusual initiative is giving some food lovers cultural indigestion. The "McItaly," hawked with the slogan "McDonald's speaks Italian," is made entirely of Italian DOP products (Protected Designation of Origin) and the meal's ingredients make up the colors of the Italian flag, red, white and green. They want to give an imprint of Italian flavors to our youngsters?. But the flag-flying burger, which comes with a choice of artichoke spread and Asiago cheese or onion, lettuce and smoked pancetta, has come under heavy criticism by food critics both in Italy and abroad.
