Other groups can build a home using local materials and stimulates the local economy for $2,500 - $5000. That doesn't always include a bathroom, a separate latrine needs to be constructed. Doesn't always include electricity.

I wonder if something like this would be helpful in the US? Seems nicer than a FEMA trailer park.
