..no lets not talk college hoops
You forgot the other NCAA school in the south end of the state!!!! Dixie State is in 2nd Place in the PACWEST and 13-3 overall. Please give us some love!!!
Thanks for the Kudos Mike.
byu's one-man-band won't win a tourney game... they need to play as a team and need some other players to step up... unfortunately think we've seen the best from the Cougs this year
Seems like teams are catching on to the Jimmer Fraudette show!
havent beaten the tough teams on their already week schedule
UNM
BYU
UNLV???
Talentwise SDSU may be the best, Coaching probably best is UNM, best combination is UNLV.
BYU is a doughnut team with nothing in the middle, could see up to 3 losses (UNM, SDSU and at UT) left.
UNLV is probably in the best position to win the regular season title, BYU next, with UNM having to beat UNLV at home at minimum to win.
BYU is still the best team in the MWC. One bad game (and an uncharacteristically great shooting night for UNLV) doesn't really change anything. The only reason the league is tied is because of the schedule. The toughest away games are at BYU, UNLV, UNM and SDSU. UNM still has to play its toughest two games at UNLV and at BYU. UNLV still has to play at SDSU, with UNM at home. BYU has already played all of its tough away games and the only tough home game is UNM. But with BYU nearly beating UNM in the PIT, the edge has to go to BYU for that one.
It's certainly possible that BYU loses another game or two, but given the schedule BYU still has the best chance to win the conference. Remember, UNLV tends to lose games they should win (Utah, for example), so I don't think BYU even needs to win out to get a piece of the conference title. UNLV plays it's last two big tests this week (against UNM and at SDSU) so we'll know a lot more about where UNLV stands in the conference picture after this week.
Talking about Utah and BYU going to the PAC10, shows how little you understand what else is important in some conferences. Utah would fit, but no way would BYU measure up to PAC10 standards other than sports.
I don't know whether to be "grateful" we got thrown a small bone at the end of your article or to be offended? This article should have been entitled "Lets talk about byu and utah hoops"
Weber is on track to win their 19th conference championship and split the toughest road swing any Utah team has played thus far.
Next time, don't waste my time with the same drivel on byu and uu - at least title your article appropriately.
They've only lost 3 games! And I'm guessing you meant "weak." Cmon now Ute troll.
NOT BYU
"Seems like teams are catching on to the Jimmer Fraudette show!" Good point...every team has EXCEPT Utah. BYU will be fine.
It depends on who is playing at home.
Great article- and thanks for the information about Alcorn State being the worst team in tne nation- I am sure Stew Morrill will be on the phone today scheduling them for a preseason game in Logan.
Was the UNLV game a harginger for things to come for the coogs. They have a history of starting strong and then fading late in the season. Some bad loses now will hurt their seeding in the NCAA's. The key will be if they can win the MWC tourney. If they don't win the conference tourney I wouldn't hold my breath for an NCAA win.
are out in force today. UNLV was favored to win at home against the Y and now all the drunks are calling the "one man bands" "donuts". BYU went 2-2 on the road at UNLV, THE PIT, SDST AND UTAH and now they wont win a tourny game? Are the BYU haters that clueless about NCAA basketball, really? Crawl back in your hole until BYU comes to the hill and spanks the utes. Seems to be the only game you slobs seem to come watch anymore.
As a BYU fan, it pains me to admit this but UNLV is the best team in the MWC right now. UNLV plays UNM at home this Wed. Should they win (they've beat UNM @ UNM already) they'd be 3-1 against the top three (UNLV, BYU, UNM). BYU will have split the games (each winning @ home) and UNM will be 1-3 having beat BYU at UNM.
I must admit, I'm discouraged a bit. I'm not sure of the solution but the Cougars need to find a formula for winning on the road. NCAA Tournament games are a road atmosphere. Come on Cougars!!!
Aggies will receive a lower seed than the y in March. Aggies will play a better game than the y. Odds of any team from Utah adancing to sweet 16 is very slim to none.
Utes have one of the youngest teams in the country. They will be much better next year and down right scary in two years.
Go Big Blue!!!
TDS is totally overrated! Foster and crew will apply a Vegas beatdown in the rematch. Go Utes!
