Hey Breck . . . here's the right answer.
Correlation does not IMPLY causation.
Does that little bit of logic shake your world too much?
Kitschy little bromides make good copy and simple questions. But, they don't get to the heart of the matter.
Here's a SINGLE question (no multi-choice needed) for you:
Where's your PROOF anything is wrong with the deal?
Before you answer . . . Remember . . .
Correlation does not imply causation
Lee Padron
Draper
Did you come up with that all on your own? If so, you must be proud of yourself. I get your point, but comparing Buckingham Palace and the Vatican to Bryce National Park is a little much.
RE: Lee Padron,
Here is another question for you Lee: Who has proven themselves to be liars over and over again, and they have also been caught with their hands in the cookie jar too many times to count?
Answer: The Government.
Sometimes the appearance of corruption is so compelling that you don't need direct proof. Give the $10,000 back and its end of story. Don't give it back, and I assume that you took it under the pretense that you never get something for nothing. No one just "gives" you $10,000.
Hmm, I'll draw my own conclusion based on the logic I described above.
You may not have realized, you're responding to a liberal. I highly doubt they understand they concept of correlatation and causation.
a) This letter writer has no idea what he is talking about
b) This letter writer has no idea what he is talking about
c) This letter writer has no idea what he is talkinb about
Answer: You can choose
Here is an old saying. "Follow the money". It's not proof, but it seems to be true.
Lee and too Lee: If they give me $10K and put the mine in the middle of Bryce we have no correlation. If they give $10K to the sitting Guv and Rep. (Noel) from that district and they begin to waive the "economic development banner needed in Southern Utah", watch out.
Logicians need to heed the call of common sense more than their syllogisms: If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's a ........(fill in the blank).
What the letter writing failed to provide was any evidence that harm is being done by the coal mine.
Proximity does not equal harm.
Hmmmm... is it a secret code in "C" where you create a new word called "talkinb"?
Looks like the copy/paste buttons are broken on your computer. I appreciate the hand-crafted look of your quiz tho!
You ask: "Who has proven themselves to be liars over and over again, and they have also been caught with their hands in the cookie jar too many times to count?"
Correct answer: All of (a) government, (b) business, (c) individual politicians, (d) lobbyists, (e) too many others to list in 200 words or less...
Define "Next_to".
Is within 30 miles of the Vatican "Next-to" the Vatican?
I think the mine is a BAD idea too, but I'm just not into mis-representations and lies to get people excited.
The proposed mine is not "Next to" Bryce Canyon. It's out of Alton, which is private property outside the park boundaries.
The park already has wide boundaries that keep things like mines from being "Next to" the canyon.
IF you can find a legal way to stop the mine, that's great. But we also need to balance the rights of the speicial interest groups with the rights of the property owners. Keep in mind this is private property and the owner has a legal license to mine on it.
But if you can prove that the mine will ruin the water, the air or the roads... You can probably stop it.
But the lame quizes full of mis-information won't do anything to change anything.
I'm kind of surprised this was published- show a little more respect for the Governor- he's trying to do a good job in difficult times- I would say the same about Obama even though his policies are all wrong
Just another one of those coincidences that keep happening among Republicans.
True, correlation does not necessarily equal causation. But as Thoreau said, "Some circumstantial evidence is very strong, as when you find a trout in the milk."
We live in a country and a state run by the lobbyists for the lobbyists. What is sad is that I used to live in a country and state run by the people for the people. Ahhh...those were the days!
Does anyone know where I can get an old stokermatic coal burning stove? I love coal.

Well the answer is (e). Sadly. Tough to trust 'em, those good ol' boys know how to run a goverment.

Is Senator Edwards a Republican?
So is what he got himself into, as you put it, "Just another one of those coincidences that keep happening among DEMOCRATS"?
Stop your partisan games. Both sides have their problems. And Herbert's isn't even a scandal! He did nothing wrong (in my opinion).
I'm just amazed at how partisan and one-sidedly you see everything. If you could just realize that Democrats arn't perfect... and neither are Republicans, that would be great.
So Herbert did nothing wrong (in your opinion)?
Thanks for the parentheses. Here are my parentheses:
Herbert DID do something wrong (in my opinion).
There. My opinion's as good as yours.
I confess. I'm a liberal and I don't understand the concept of "correlatation." Would you care to enlighten me on this mysterious multisyllabic concept?
