this is another complete waste of taxpayer money! these animals are ferral animals that destroy the land they live on! these are not indigenous animals! in my opinion they should be treated the same way that ferral hogs are treated in Texas. SHOT ON SIGHT! Does anyone know where these horses go after the roundup? they go to the midwest where the government pays ranchers to keep them alive on their ranches. On these ranches the animals live up to 50% longer than they would if they were left in Nevada. And we, the tax payers, get to pay for the room and board and medicine for a bunch of ferral animals.
the lady from the cloud foundation is exactly right, we need to remove all of those pesky beef critters from the range. then we'll have lots more room to grow horses. good horse steaks are getting extreemly hard to get and it's getting even harder to find someone who knows how to cook them.and just look at all the tax dollars we can save because we don't have to contend with all of these round-ups.
If there is almost 2000 head more than should be on the range and the target is 600 to 900, which is double or triple the amount that is recommended. So if you did remove the cows how long before we would be in the same situation of over population, with a herd expansion of 25 percent a year? Without the public land rancher out there to build and maintain water developments and other range improvements. Much of the area is a long hike for a jack rabbit to the water. Horses seem to be tied to the water and will beat the area around it. The ranchers keep livestock moving to help protect the resources. Then there is the fact that the law tells us that we must manage the horses and resources. The extreme environmentalists tell us that the horses can take care of themselves. The truth is that they will eat themselves out of house and home. Let’s let the people that have been trained and hired make the recommendations of what to do. Celebrities have not been trained and act on emotion. This is why I will not spend money to see these clowns.
