Unelected, unaccountable, lifetime terms, use of hear-say, rumor and innuendo. The initiative may be well intentioned. But it seems to be substituting one form of mischief and corruption for another.

Tighten the rules. Immediate (72 hrs), online disclosure of ALL contributions, gifts, etc. as well as expenditures of campaign funds is necessary. We are smart. We can see if a legislator or lobbyist is crossing the line.

We don't need un-elected overlords spending money chasing baseless allegations in the name of ethics reform. And by the way, who holds the commission accountable and to what ethical standard?

Please list real people ...

I’d like to see a list of real qualified Utahns to go on the commission.

These “independent” ethics commissioners certainly would have to be ethical, non-partisan, faith-free, unbeholden, recycling, non-spanking, law-abiding, platonic, low-carbon-footprint, non-deadbeat, literate, open-minded, pet-neutered, independently-wealthy-or-poor, organic, teetotaling, other-mocassin-walking, monogamous, non-clutch-revving, bilingual, debt-free, other-cheek-turning, well-read, agenda-unencumbered, non-controversial, vegetarian, drug-free, unable-to-cast-the-first-stone, non-draft-dodging, sustainable, with no rap sheet, skeletons, absences, tardies, low-citizenship marks or hidden vices, who earned their Brownie or Eagle Scout without help and who have absolutely no conflicts of interest to be qualified to sit on the commission? No?

Please make me a list of ten Utahns that could serve on the commission.
