Keep cleaning things up, we desperately need it. And Parents, PLEASE keep tabs on what your children are doing and who they're associating with...YOU ARE the front line!
How can it be that the detectives were paid by a private enterprise. We pay taxes. Make some cuts somewhere, but is this really where the governor has cut the budget? These kind of criminals infect our communities. They continue to debase themselves and destroy the lives of children and they just keep adding victims. I read that the police collected 10's of thousands, not hundreds or dozens, of child pornography pictures and movies. How did those get made? Some wicked pervert made them by sexually attacking children.
Don't get me wrong, it is good that the charity gave money. Whoever is behind this is a hero! Obviously, the charity is trying to figure out how to really help children. That's awesome. But Governor Herbert needs to step up to the plate on this. Cut the pay of legislators, slice off a sliver of road money, pull some from tourism. But quit taking money from law enforcement. We have to fight these perverts just like fighting drunk drivers and others who are a plague.
Apparently some wealthy guy or enterprise values the lives of kids more than they value getting their name on a symphony program. It's great that they give their money to the predator detectives. You're right, it is the responsibility of government, just like education and roads. YOu are way off base comparing a predator on children to a drunk driver. The drunk driver plays Russion roulette in getting behind a wheel. Sure, it is dangerous. But a perverted predator destroys every victim in his path and the destruction just keeps on taking and ruining.
I agree with the first comment. This is great work. Now let's see the follow up stories on what the judges and courts do with these guys. Maybe the on-line version of the DNews could include names and addresses and link them to the sex offender register site.
And to the detectives, yeah, great work! I hope that your own families don't have to pay a horrible price because you do this kind of work. Whoever you are, you're the ones that really make a difference. God bless you in your work! Keep it up!
Could an elderly female who is computer/Internet savvy and hates child abuse, especially porn, be of any use to a local police department as a volunteer? Just wondering if some of the legwork could be outsourced...so many people around here seem to have given up. If I hear one more person throw her hands up in the air and exclaim, "It's the last days...evil is everywhere." I'm going to crush her toe with my high heel. We can all be more aware, watchful of our neighborhood children, report suspicious activities (single men hanging around kids is very bad news, in case you didn't know) and volunteer to help in some way. Also, TEACH YOUR CHILDREN and WATCH THEM!!!
