Hey Noel,

Who do you represent? The people or the money?

Larry

I am happy that our state has taken this stand on so called global warning. There have been enough revelations in the past few months that bring into doubt the science behind the analysis. I strongly believe that global warming is just a way to get more of our tax dollars and enrich the companies that are leading the green revolution. This is just another falsehood that is presented to us as fact. There are plenty of reasons for any warming trend. I undertand that many of the temperature measurement stations in the colder region of the world have been eliminated and the hard data that would normally be collected at those site is not estimated.

Royal Families pleased.

The Royal Families and dictators of the oil producing nations of the world strongly support the good legislator, Mike Noel, for his brave stance on so called global warming. We concur with Larry above that global warming "is just a way to get more of our tax dollars and enrich the companies that are leading the green revolution."

Why change the world's economy to "save" mother nature? All the green revolution will do is disrupt this wonderful partnership we have with the United States. You send us your money and military to protect our (I mean "your") oil fields in the Mideast, and we send you that beautiful black gold that powers the aspirations of your wonderful society and economy.

All this talk that oil funds terrorism is just silly liberal talk.

Imagine a world that didn't have oil. Imagine if trillions of dollars of your hard earned money didn't flow to us. Imagine if your military didn't have to work in our lands. It just wouldn't be right.

Ignore the "science," and just outlaw it ... Enrich us, and be free!

Ostriches

Like Noel, stick their head in the sand to hide from the facts. Our whole legislature is full of ostriches.

IPCC Fraud

Will Rogers once said, "It ain't what people don't know that hurts them. It's what they do know that ain't true."

leave the courts alone

So if the lawsuits are false as the Noel claims then they will be dismissed by the courts, I am always weary of politicians that want to restrict citizen’s rights to access the courts, especially on hot button issues such as global warming.

Wake up Utah

Typical Utah mentality.. Closed minded republican with no world view. Take a look at your air quality over the last few weeks? Are you really that naive?

I see that many people want facts surrounding the global warming theory. However we still need to be mindful of our environment and make tough laws to ensure a clean planet for our children. This is a must and should not be determined by profit loss. However I do think that a class action is a bit far fetched.

And we

And we buy the energy to heat our homes, and heat out water, and to drive our cars, to and from work. And our work buys the energy to keep the lights on etc.

Moroni

Thank you, Mr. Noel.

Reason

Good for Noel, on both bills.

Reality Check

The reason Katrina affected New Orleans so badly was that flood control measures on the Mississippi River and it's tributaries in 30 states and two Canadian provinces reduced the amount of sediment that used to replenish the Mississippi delta, leaving New Orleans less protected.

Of course you have to call into question the sanity of people who choose to live in a hurricane-prone area on unstable ground below sea level, hoping that a man-made structure would protect them 24/7/forever.

Case dismissed.

Big Larry

Global warming is a theory that is not proven and which is highly controversial. Many people confuse concern for the environment, and approval of common-sense conservation efforts, with global warming theory. In fact, the science behind global warming is highly biased. Contrary to the scientific method, global warming science proceeds on the premise that the theory is correct, and tends to ignore evidence to the contrary. That's what the "climategate" scandal is about. The emails that were revealed showed that the data did not support global warming theory, and so the researchers chose to manipulate the data so as to discount the numbers that did not prove their point. Before wasting precious money and resources on a problem that may not exist, we should proceed slowly and with extreme caution. One look at current world weather patterns, with record cold temperatures this winter, should be enough to prove that we are far from being in any crisis.

Big Lar: The definition of a theory: "a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world"
There are a dozen independent lines of proof that support AGW including NOAA surface temps for 150 years, NASA Goddard and Hadley models. The UAH and RSS satellites have tracked both temp and solar output for 30 years. There is the Mauna Loa CO2 record that CD Keeling started in 1957 and now has support from stations around the globe. There are 3-4 ice cores with actual CO2 readings that go back as far as 800,000 years. Glacier data, polar data, tundra data, carbon isotope data and there are the laws of physics. All of this is available from the actual sources: NASA GISS, NOAA, NSIDC, Scripps etc. No need to take the word of unlettered journalists like Rush, Beck, Monckton and Watts. And BTW, Roy Spencer (who doesn't believe in AGW) just posted the NOAA satellite data on his website showing that Jan 2010 was the hottest EVER on the satellite record.
As for those that keep chirping about following the money: Think about who's getting it the next time you fill the gas tank!
