Bribes to GOP poisons Families. Bribes to GOP party and Democrat Moderates will continue to stifle any change in Insurance and Healthcare industry and discourage Families.
Families are being destroyed by unaffordable healthcare.
The current system which has already fallen to #34 in the World in quality.
American families spend more than any other country in the world in healthcare costs (#1 Spender) and the quality decreases every year.
This is Robbery. We should be paying less than the 34 countries that have better healthcare!
Meanwhile, the majority in Utah says no to change while families go Bankrupt on medical bills... causing financial stress which results in Divorce and Destruction of the Family.
This article proves the trend of family healthcare suffering is increasing. We all need to band together and participate in a healthcare tax by an equal percentage of earnings that includes the rich and change the system. Those without work or employment or money could contribute time and service to the sick and needy.
Let us call upon responsible citizens and officers of government to promote health measures designed to maintain and strengthen the family (Both Poor and Rich) as the fundamental unit of society.
A lot of smart people seem to feel that it's truly tragic how many people, libertarian/tea-partiers in particular, will in the name of downsizing government, refuse to see that in this instance, they are voting against their own interest. The larger thing here is how is it possible that so many could be so mislead? And, they aren't going to be hijacking the GOP, that's for sure, rather it's the opposite. That's the nature of Bizarro-land messaging.
The rebuttal to President Obama State of the state had a Republican who told us "we have the best healthcare system in the world". When reports like this come out I have to wonder if the Republicans have any ideas for bringing down costs at all and how they can claim we are #1 when our system costs more and more. Where are solutions to this mess?
A prominent Canadian politician’s decision to undergo heart surgery in the U.S. has touched off a debate about national health care in his own country.
As in most things you get what you pay for. We could bring in cheap third world doctors and nurses and bring the costs down alot.
"We don't need no stinking health care reform! Let them all eat cake." With this mentality, we can let the GOP stifle any meaningful reform while we all will pay the price.
People live longer in Canada, and infant mortality is better than the US.
One indecent does not justify our out of control heath care. The politician lived in Newfoundland. A province that is about the same size as Wyoming. You can't get the procedure he needed in Wyoming either.
With Canada's health care he can come to the US, the opposite is not true.
Insurance companies are bilking the public purse because they can. If we actually cared about health-care costs, a single-payer system would be fully on the table.
This popular belief and misconception that insurance is the cause of health care costs better stop and think again. The users of health care and providers of health care are the culprits of deceit and excessive costs. Hou many users of health care have ever bothered to investigate hospital or doctor costs? Perhaps 1 in 100,000 ever question their bills they turn over to insurance companies. Helath care providers falsify and over charge on every service and every patient bill. And you ignorant individuals are dumber than the paper a bill is printed on.
So if you want to blame someone for rising costs, then blame your own stupidity for letting your doctors and service providers for defrauding every one that walks through the door. Try asking what every thing costs sometime. How does a $20 aspirin strike you? Reasonable and customary?
Believe it or not, insurance companies are fighting this battle to control cost for your benefit but ignorance is winning. People are handing a blank check to hospitals and clinics and think they aren't corrupt, but that is where the corruption is.
Would you go to a car dealer and sign a blank contract?
According to a rep. of the insurance industry, the reason costs are going up is we are using medical services more and more. Perhaps trying to get our moneys worth out of insurance. It stands to reason if we go to see a doctor twice as much as our Canadian neighbors, we are going to pay more.
Oh my gosh, someone who knows EXACTLY why health care costs so much. Forget the mindless chatter we always hear and read his comment. Our problem is health care is not following open market rules:
"...we really don't know what we're buying, how much a procedure costs or even if it's going to work," Nielsen said.
TORT REFORM.
this way docs don't have to practice defensive medicine.
Huh, only $8,000 in Utah. Two years ago it was $18,000 in maine for my family of five. Now I hear it will cost us $24,000 per year. (Anthem) After paying for that, I'll qualify for medicare!
whatever, Medicaid
Maybe we should ask why doctors order all of the extra tests that are not necessary. Maybe we should as ourselves why states that have tort reform have doctors flocking to the state. Maybe we should ask ourselves why our children are born premature when we have the "right" to use drugs and alcohol while pregnant. Maybe we should ask ourselves why we can't buy health insurance from Wyoming if we live in New York. I live in Texas, but have life insurance in Utah. I can buy a car in New Mexico. I can buy a neck tie from Georgia. Maybe we should ask ourselves why we eat at McDonald's. Maybe we should ask ourselves why we live in the United States that gives us the freedom to destroy ourselves if we want with smoking and extra food. Maybe we should ask ourselves why we still live here when we are free to move to any other country that will take us.
I can't afford health care. I'm a student and I need to work on some health issues, but I can't because I don't have access to medical care. When I do obtain work, I'm planning on a trip to Mexico to get my teeth worked on, and a trip to India for any medical procedures I may need. The travel costs will be in lieu of a deductible and I'll get a "vacation" out of it as well.
The healthcare system in the U.S. is NOT the best in the world; I've experienced care in Finland and that was the best I've ever received, bar none. The system here IS broken.
Americans like to think that we're the best at everything and that we have all the best ideas. Not so. Pride keeps us from seeing the good ideas that other countries have and that's a shame.
in response to him i know of a time when a man&wive worked in two different places she had a claim in to the doc. the mans insurance paid the women insurance paid when she told her insurance company about it they said it was not worth fighting the doc over it that was in the 1970's
health care costs are outrageous because physicians can no longer say ,'no' to patients or families ; we treat terminal illnesses until the last nail is hammered into the coffin and as a soceity wonder why health care is so costly. Bring up TORT reform for malpractice and no one likes that idea either ... so who gets blamed by the public ? health care providers....
After being laid off this spring during the Bush recession, our cobra insurance premiums have doubled (actually 101% the maximum allowed by law!)Our Minnesota healthy family of four now is required to pay $2000 per month plus 20% co pay costs. This is the same UnitedHealth insurance company that paid CEO McGuire nearly 1 billion in backdated stock options.
We need our congress to try to fix this problem and not stand on the sidelines whining about the the other side. "Do something, even if it's wrong!"
And if it's wrong then come back and fix it...
Wickipedia has Canada at 81yrs ,Usa at 78yrs ,a small 1% difference. Does the Usa have more gang, military deaths than Canada and more young, single urban mothers(with risky behaviors)- probably. Do Canadians walk more ? Germany and Uk are at 79 yrs so were are all about the same .It just comes down to who pays the bills(people always prefer it to someone else). There is no perfect system to deliver health care. There are some people who will abuse, overuse, defraud, waste or chose not to use it. And-Yes ,when leaders of the countries want the best outcomes for major health problems ,they consider the best the Usa has to offer and frequently come.
It is very simple.
Ever since the government got involved in health care ... costs have sored.
Ever since we took consumerism out of health care and pushed everything to government or private 3rd party payers ... costs have soared.
Ever since our government has overspent on "Progressive" social programs, gone into debt, and pursued inflationary policies. Costs for all domestic products have soared.
Our medical system is still #1 in quality. These reports saying that we rank lower are biased towards one thing. Is it Free?.
The real solutions is to put competition and consumerism back into medicine and get the government and 3rd party payers out of it.
