Unfortunately, America can not continue with the Reagan / Bush tax cut for the rich and spend fiscal policy, which has built this huge deficit. Clinton and Obama realize America needs fiscal responsibility and to live within it's means.

You want fiscal responsibility, right? These cuts are difficult, but this is how to balance the budget.

Have you been paying attention to what Obama has been doing? His new budget will increase our deficit to record highs. HOW IS THAT FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY? Obama has even admitted to this fact!
Obama has talked about how he wants to creat jobs in this country but his actions and decisions are causing the loss of jobs. Somebody needs to pull Obama aside and remind him of his promises to this country when he took the Oath a year ago. I for one can not wait until 2012.

Some may think of NASA as a bunch of spend thrifts and wasting tax dollars but they have been the front line of science for America. They are like a national science foundation taking on the challenge to create and improve life in america. They have contributed immeasurable products to industry and consumers that are common today. Their science and research has contributed completely new industries outside of the space program. We can't just ignore the contributions and jobs this program has created for the economy that are not even related to space.

Without NASA you wouldn't have your pocket phones, WD40, or Tang. Without NASA, many thousands of engineers and workers can store their degrees in the garage in a box.

Obama is haphazardly shutting down america and its role as leaders in science and technology they share with american business, workers, and consumers.

It would better serve america to shut down funding education, welfare, amnesty for illegal foreign national terrorists crossing the Mexican border, also referred to as illegal aliens.

Obama has surrounded himself with stupidity and ignorance with his unqualified regime of czars. And its showing to the american people.

We can't continue this drunken-sailor type spending spree under the Democrats. Deficit is now $1.4 trillion. Was never that large under Republicans. Obama spent $5 billion just on his old friends, ACORN! A corrupt organization. It's the Spending! It's not the Government's Money!!!!! I'm so sorry that you are so deluded by Left-wing propaganda. Step away from the punch bowl, friend. On the NASA budget, it's not the amount being spent. There's actually an increase by Obama. It's where. He wants to spend on touchy-feely stuff like global warming monitoring, etc. Manned Spaceflight -- something pioneered by this nation and which makes us a superpower, is done away with. Obama is giving the space race over to Russians and CHinese. Now a 2nd rate power. NASA spending is tiny fraction of what Obama is spending overall.

He can spend and was money on all kinds of bailouts and entitlement programs yet he can not support the one thing that actually creates jobs.

OK, let me get his straight. The Republicans are upset that the government isn't going to waste money on a Lunar program because now they won't spend money to stimulate the economy? Enough of the pet projects already. But I am waiting with baited breath for the next Tang, & we all know how important another Moon landing is. This is the kind of waste we need to do away with.

First of all the Concelation program is NOT a waste of money.

The research and articles that comes out of Nasa (as lead mentioned)has improved the quality of life for us.

Do you use a Cell phone? NASA
Do you have air bags in your Cars? NASA
Do you use a microwave oven? NASA
Do you use an IPOD or electronic Day planner? NASA
Do you sleep on a mattress? NASA developed alot the techniques used for how mattress are built.

so why exactly is NASA "Waste of Money"?

NASA also has helped advance and develope a lot of Medical practices such as MRI's and CT scans...

Wanna talk waste of money? How about $5 billion for corrupt ACORN? How about Cash for Clunkers which was one of the most bone-headed rushed govrenment programs in history; most car buyers would have done better to just negotiate on their own without the gov't funds as car dealers upped their negotiating price. How about the waste with trying the Underpants Bomber and other terrorists on US Soil in Federal courts? Over $1 billion just for GITMO prisoners.. and counting. So please, give me a break here. The list of inventions from NASA is unbelievably long. From Aluminum Foil, Cellophane wrapers, GPS, satelitte communicaton, (including the system that made CNN what it is today which has turned out to be our demise).
As is stated in this article, it is the difference between the U.S. and third world nations. It has been proven over and over that Obama is working as fast as he can to drive the U.S. to becoming just another third and possibly a fourth world nation. France Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran are trying hard to become leaders in space as they know the least money spent on space expolration brings huge rewards in new technology.

Nothing like trading mathematics, science, physics, engineering, and manufacturing jobs for "shovel ready", burger flipping, subsidized jobs and unemployment. Since Sputnik...manned space has stimulated the minds of youth and the imagination of all true Americans. Nuff said

I'm an engineer and like NASA, but let's at least get the facts straight. NASA was established Oct 1, 1958. The items mentioned almost all predate NASA.

Microwave - 1947 Raytheon
Cell phone - 1956 Ericson (Sweden)
Air Bags - 1952 first patent issued
IPOD? - I take this to mean small electronic devices. Transistor (heart of the technology), Bell Labs late 1940's. Integrated circuit, Texas Instruments (September 1958).
Mattress? NASA did develop memory foam, but most of the rest of a mattress is based on ideas from the late 19th and early 20th century (box springs, innersprings).
Aluminum foil - 1898 Switzerland
Cellophane film - 1908 Switzerland
GPS - late 60's early 70's AirForce and Navy

Even Tang wasn't invented by NASA but at General Mills in 1957.

If we want to go to the moon that badly,
build another rocket and go.

We already have a rocket system designed, built, Man-rated, certified, proven and fully functional to get there and back -- it's called APOLLO.

Don't reinvent the wheel.
