Well... I guess there's always next year.
What more can I say? Something needs to change.
Well at least they had a lead for about fifteen seconds. It's the only lead they've had in two full games, and most of three. I truly don't understand this team. How can the range of performance be so wide? You can say Henderson would've helped, but he's a poor percentage shooter and isn't consistent enough yet to make much of a difference. Where is the senior leadership?
Boylen's days are numbered, and it may happen before the end of this season.
Ya....I don't know what to say, I can throw a Ha Ha out there, but plenty of people will do that. Since only about 340 people were there tonight, word will slowly flow, I'll just hold my comment and let the loss simmer by summarizing Boylen's words after every loss (which is nearly every game)
post 3 game losing streak quotes of boylen:
I'm proud of our guys, i'm proud of the way they fought and played. I love this team
Blah blah, blah
the party's over!
Fall?
How about DESTROYED at home!
The Utes put on quite a shooting exhibition though.
It only took them 5 minutes and 28 seconds to score their first points against Colorado State.
Then, they topped that by scoring 9 points (three 2-point baskets) in the last 11 minutes of the game.
Impressive!
How on earth did this team ever beat UNLV in the Thomas & Mack?
Well, at least football signing day was fun, which means spring football is just around the corner.
Time to extend Boylen's contract!
I don't get this at all. How could the team do so well last year and do so poorly this year? Bad recruits? Bad coaching? What?
This season is shot. Boylen needs to have a better season next year or he will really be on the hot seat. You can't really feel sorry for him because he is making $1,000,000 a year.
Nice work Jim. Maybe you should stop talking about other people's "NBA Prospects" and go out and recruit one. You've proven you can win with another coaches recruits....in fact your record will be worse than Coach Giac's after 3 years. Come on man.
Apparently, Utah's basketball team wasn't available either.
Boylen can get up for big games, but is lousy for smaller games. This must be a record for most games lost at home.
Disappointed.
Hate to see the Utes lose. I like Boylen and I like a lot of the Utah players. Watkins is a beast and Brown is talented.
I hope the Utes can turn it around.
That is, if your offense can score more than 30 points. These guys stink. High school teams have more offensive firepower. There was only a few hundred people in attendence because they would rather watch paint dry. I rather pay money to watch the women's team...and I've never watched a women's basketball game.
Luka Drca
1-3 FG, 0-2 3PT, 0-0 FT, 3 reb, 2 ast, 5 TO, 4 pts
Kim Tillie
1-1 FG, 0-0 3PT, 0-0 FT, 3 reb, 1 ast, 2 pts
Couple weeks ago, one ute fan exclaimed,"The utes are on the Rise!" To that I say whatever!
What I don't understand is the lineup they went with tonight. Why not try to give Hines a shot at PG and give Cyphers some minutes? Hines cant be worse than Drca, who obviously had an off night (again) and Cyphers is supposed to be a shooter. I understand wanting to stick with your regular backups but when it takes you 5 minutes to score a point, shake up the rotation! I'm a Utah fan but Boylen definitely needs to make some changes.
Technically, if you look at the box score, there were 8,110 people there...but I guess they all hung out on the concourse or left after the opening tip off.
7,000 must have come disguised as empty red chairs then.
Utah is just plain bad.
The yewts were so focused on the lack of Deputy Henderson, they forgot to show for the game.
I've never seen so mannnnnnnnnnnnny empty red seats!
Oh, I take that back. I attended a game in Tooele last week and the attendance was close.
We love Coach Boylen. He is more fun to watch, (then the basketball team) marching and stomping up and down the sidelines. Why those that attend the game and sit by me get a laugh everytime one of the yewts get fouled and Boylen hops around and around. It is really hysterical....just watch him the next game if you attend.
Please extend his contract so at least HALF of the seats will be filled!!!
Where are you? Coach Boylen needs your supporting words....Are you still a Boylen fan?
