Rachel is a total ROCK STAR! She is a hard-working, wonderful person and deserves her success! GO RACHEL! GO OLYMPICS! GO HONG KONG! I wonder how her parents met? He mom must be beautiful!
She is such a fast swimmer and my role model! I love watching her swim! It's like watching a dolphin swim in the ocean.
I love watching Rachel swim! I go to every practice and watch her! She makes me want to be a better person. Go RACHEL!
This young lady needs to make a descision. You are either american or chineese but you cannot be both. By swimming for the chineese you are tasitly supporting the chineese governmemt.
Hey Wingnut, you obviously have no clue how college swimming works. The very best swimmers from all over the world swim at various universities in the U.S. This young lady is incredibly talented but would likely have a better chance at making the Olympic team for a country other than the U.S. To say that she should forego an Olympic opportunity to make a political statement is contrary to the Olympic spirit and the spirit of competitive sport in general.
Look for a constructive way to waive our flag.
She represents Hong Kong not China. She has an opportunity that not many people get and if she wants she should take advantage of it.
Just because someone honors and appreciates their heritage doesn't mean they support and back everything the current regime does and stands for.
By the way, do you ever buy or use anything made in China? Does that mean you support the Chinese government too?
LOL!! Wingnut hasn't a clue - about politics, college swimming, citizenship, the Olympics, or spelling...
Try to pay more attention, and come back when you have a basic knowledge of any of the five topics...
GO RACHEL!! GIFTED AND HARD-WORKING!!
Rachel has accomplished more in the first 20 years of her life than most people ever do. What an inspiration she and her hard-working teammates are to young people everywhere...the U.S., Hong Kong, the world!
Rachel is da man. If she makes the HK olympic team, more power to her! And I bet she must have a very supportive family. Especially her dad... BYU is lucky to have her on the team!!
...two of a kind.
Rachel's hard work and commitment remind me of Lincoln's time on his knees to win the war - it took real faith and hard work.
I wonder if Lincoln would have made the Olympics?
Hey Wingnut! I hear that she has 2 younger swimmers who are just as good swimmers. Are you going to tell them they need to pick whether they are Chinese or American too?
Wingnut is obviously a typical classless yewt fan. Max Hall said it right about you guys. Go Rachel! Go Cougs
The hours she spends swimming remind me of all the work we did in Wyoming on our farm. We did sheep and goat work, and it was HARD work. Long, long hours.
I can't imagine how early you'd have to get up in the morning to become an Olympic swimmer, and how many hours you'd have to spend in the pool to become an exceptional competitor.
She ROCKS!
If Rachel makes the HK olympic swim team, I'm gonna suddenly be pulling for HK's women in all the swim events! Best of luck in your college and olympic swimming aspirations Rachel!
There once was a BYU swimmer,
Who swam just as fast as a Bimmer,
Her talent shines bright,
Like a 1000-watt light,
Ole Wingnut is proving much dimmer
A swimming haiku...
B. Y. U. Swimmer
River. Pool. Ever faster.
Olympic-sized dream
She broke the BYU pool record last night for 200 m butterfly. Congrats and keep up the good work.
