Good luck!
Best of luck at Oregon Ricky. They have a lot to offer.
Good luck! Happy you bypassed utah!
Ricky is going to Oregon, not Oregon State. Big difference.
Welcome Ricky!!
Keleni - you'll love this decision once you have an opportunity to visit Oregon's campus and see not just the athletic stuff but also the academic support your son will receive.
Oregon ducks crash on the Blue turf!
I live in Eugene Oregon. Its a great place to be. The Oregon Ducks are a great football team.
I thought that might happen. Oh well, there goes Utah's chances of having a stellar class this year.
I saw that BYU was still on his list of schools of interest, and I was hopeful, but I didn't think we were ever one of his top choices. At least the Utes didn't get him!
Wow! Brighton has some expansive school boundaries. Who knew Glendale was in Brighton district? Isn't this East high district?
Congrats Ricky! Would have loved to see you at the U, but I know you will have a great impact at Oregon. Best of luck!
Great news! He’s going to love it in Eugene, and he will certainly grow to be a all-conference player in the Pac-10. Oregon has a number of LDS guys on the team, a lot who served missions and he will be well received in Eugene. There is a bad rep about Eugene and all its liberal tendencies, and sure some of that is true to a certain degree- but as a LDS guy who got my degree in the 2000s in Eugene, they LDS football players in Eugene are a tight group who have no locker room issues with other guys on the team. It’s a family atmosphere, and the coaches will fully support his mission. 100% Go Ducks, and once again congrats to him and his family!
but if it was a horse race you did "Show." But still get no Ricky!
Did he sign with Oregon? or Oregon State? If Oregon State, I doubt there would be quacking....
three to go!
Kudos to Bronco for its signing class but he blew it right here.
What relation is he to Lakei (sp?) Heimuli, the great BYU running back from the 80s? Did I miss that in the article?
This will be a fun experience for Ricky and family. Plan on being wet - ALOT! It rains often and hard during the home games, so it will be a different experience than the playing in UT.
PS - thanks for correcting the line under the picture. U of O Ducks are not OSU Beavers. They are both in the Pac-10.
As a BYU fan, I'm glad Heimuli chose Oregon. Close enough to enjoy him tearing up the PAC 10, but not playing for our rivals up north. When healthy, Heimuli is the best bull-rusher in the country.
Oh brother, drama queen. These kids waiting until the last min to make a decision are getting rediculous.
As a byu fan, wish he would have picked byu, but sounds like he never seriously considered doing so. That said, Utah or UCLA would have been a better decision than Oregon. At least their ego mania coach is no longer there.
I feel in my heart that Ricky will change his mind later today and sign with utah so they can also have a great recruiting class like BYU has.
Too bad you're going to miss out on the BYU experience. Unless you've lived it, you'll never know. Good luck at Oregon.
