Rethink Strategy

The son of former GOP Speaker Denny Hastert ran for congress in Illinois. He was defeated in the primary last night by Randy Hultgren.
The Kennedy Clan tried to put Martha Coakley in the Senate and lost.
Dynasties are out, Mr. Bennett. America doesn't want the old political model, be it Gingrich or Rove.
"Throw the bum out" anti-incumbency is in vogue this year, and Newt is no help there.

Sen. Bennett,
It is not about you the Senator and how you can hold onto your power longer. It is about WE THE PEOPLE. And WE are tired of you and all the other knuckle heads in Washington.
What was your promise about term limits?
It is time move aside and let someone else "represent" us.

We need someone new

Bennett is just far too much of a free spender for me. He's a fiscal democrat and a social republican. But there will be no turnaround of anything until we get the debt down. What we have done to our children is selfish and outrageous.

i agree with the first comment. It isn't about senator bennett. Its about senators that have been sitting for such a long time that they think the seat is theirs and they are entitled. The water has been sitting for such a long time, it needs to be stirred. I do plan on voting for republicans, but i hope I hope both bennett and hatch are in their last terms. retire with your dignity before you are driven out! now what to do to convince Shurtleff to run again!

Alphus

I have no particular interest in Bennett winning or losing - the GOP will retain that seat - I think Bennett has gotten the memo on being more than a little too cozy with the powers that be in D.C. and went along with too much of the ruinous spending that damaged the GOP brand for years to come.

Ted

It's past time for Bennett to come home to his cozy retirement. He has become part of the problem. He lied about limiting his time in office so we must help him keep his "promise".

As for bringing in Newt, I hope GOP delgates are savvy enough not to fall for the old celebrity dodge: "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain (Bennett) just be enthralled with Newt's dog and pony show."

He'd better not endorse Bennett!!! We have four better options right now, Gingrich can't pick from one of them?

A.C.

I suppose Mr. Bennett could call on mr. obama but that would be certain political death. Read the socialist political obituaries caused by mr. o, reid pelosi.....

wally

Bob Bennett has had every chance to do his "Good Work" and he has failed to deliver. He does not know whats best for me & my family & has been in a very important office but he is not a ground breaker, He's all about Bob... He's from the old way of life that is too slow & not sharp enough to cut through today's problems...Any and all these old guard type Poly-hacks need to be voted out, Way out & kept out because when the day is done we all live in an very, very deadly world and these old thinkers & their cronies only care about their jobs & money & the power they have at the time....
Vote them all out ...

Cats

Newt is a genious, a visionary and one of the savviest political analysts and communicators going.

I love him, BUT he has a REALLY MESSY personal life and has made some really bad personal choices. I hope he doesn't run for President. He's doing a great job right where he is and he needs to stay there.

Endorsements usually make very little difference in the end. Sen. Bennett will rise or fall based on what his constituents believe about him.

Recycled waste

Does Sen. Bennett not know how to read either? To even consider Newt Gingrich makes Bennett either a liar about "values" or reveals his ineptitude because he is unaware of history. Gingrich has done some dispiccable things to his family (this from a GOP campaign and administration aide - male) that would make anyone appalled. Yet, he's masquerading like the upstanding citizen ready to take on the mantle of the country's problems like some demented knight in shining armour. If you want to keep electing Republicans that talk "family values" but have tawdry affairs and commit sordid acts in back seats of cars while their son is being walked to their car after a little league game I feel sad for you. We need a new party. Both of these are tarnished beyond repair. They just keep recycling the same old waste. No thank you.

mohokat

Bennett stated a short while back he could campaign full time. I am thinking that would be on the taxpayers dime. Bennett was on the banking commitee and no comments were made by him that he seen this financial mess coming. He needs to go but only if another GOP is elected. No more of these wanna be commies,PLEASE

Bennett's Poor Memory

Every six years, Bennett seems to remember that he's supposed to be representing the People, and not Energy Solutions and the other big corporations who line his coffers. This time around, let's elect someone who can remember (all the time, not just at election time) who they really work for.

It seems that you, Mr. Bennet, have forgotten that you have been a strong advocate of transparancy in office, limiting lobbying, and last but not least your promice on term limits. How do explain honesty to your peers?

John

Bennett needs to call it good and get out.
He's just another middle of the road republican.
Republican by name only.

splitme2

Holy Cow, that last sentence in the story. Gingrich thinks he is a top contender for the GOP 2012 presidential nomination! There is no way!

Here's what I think

Gingrich is no help to Bennett. He has had multiple affairs and is hardly a conservative. I think Bennett's time has past. His TARP involvment was enough for me to say goodbye. BA-BYE

Enough

And he thinks that "tapping" Newt Gingrich will help him? Newt is a skilled historian and politican but his personal conduct had been less than admirable. I will not be voting for Sen. Bennett again, he and his policy stands have been a serious disappointment to me. Time to retire Senator, enjoy your granchildren, go on a mission or enjoy some free time.

justired

i don't even listen to anything newt says; to me his support for a candidate is a drawback.

re-PUBLICAN

I plan on voting and voting and voting for the "R".

It does not matter who they are or what they have done or not done.

REMEMBER, VOTE "R"!
