Did Haws get hurt? I saw his box score and was shocked! I followed the game on the computer after teaching tonight.
Hartsock played well and Miles got some rebounds. Glad to see Emery played a bit better!
The UNLV game will be a good one. Looking forward to that one.
Couldn't we have come up with a better verb than stomp. How about 'filletted' or 'boiled'. Anyway you describe it, they won with UNLV on the horizon. Go Cougs!
Tyler took an elbow to the forehead early in the game; he seemed a little dazed coming down the court and left the game shortly after; he came out of the locker room midway through the 2nd half, but stayed on the bench the rest of the game.
I didn't hear anything, but I suspect he suffered a mild concussion.
Good warm-up game for this Saturday. Good distribution of the ball and scoring - there must have been over 20 assists. People stepped up and took the heat off Jimmer, who still got above his average.
The greatest benefit is that "the horses" are rested for Saturday's crucial game.
We will lose to UNLV on the road if Jimmer takes the majority of the shots. I'm getting more and more concerned with all of his shots, time with the ball and now the added talk about the NBA. Let's get back to team ball and we'll be fine. If we don't, we'll come out losing to UNLV and UNM.
Haws got "popped" according to coach Rose. Doesn't think it is a concussion but showed enough signs to be concerned.
I live in Oregon and watched the game on the MTN. i couldnt help but notice many empty seats in the stands? Whats up? dont the people in Provo know how good of a team they have down there?
What a game. In total controle. Go cougs!
Hope Tyler gets well soon. He's a big influence on the team.
Miles had a nice double-double. Enjoyed Fredette's usual 20+, especially the nice NBA three in the final seconds to seal the deal.
Gotta shoot better from the field against UNLV if you wanna beat the Rebels.
I had the same thought.....I live on the south an was amazed at the lack of attendance tonight.
I was at the game and surprised by how few people were there. I guess people looked at TCU's record and didn't think the game would be much of a fight. But TCU is a pretty good team, and I enjoyed the game. But it was not Cougar-Ute battle.
Did you even watch the game Mr. glass half-full?
BYU had 19 assists on 24 made baskets and only 8 turnovers which shows a team that is working the ball around very well.
Haws, Miles, Davies and Abouo were a combined 1 for 14, but even with BYU's worst shooting performance of the season, the Cougars still managed to pull off an easy 20-point win.
Most of the shots of empty seats were during a free throw. Those are the worst seats and the most often empty.
A Tuesday night game against 10-13 TCU, but BYU still had 11,454 in attendance.
The student section was pretty full and there were quite a few fans above concourse, but the work night game did affect attendance from many of the folks who live in Salt Lake County and farther north.
Enjoyable game, but the Cougs will have to kick it up a notch at UNLV.
Nice to see Anderson get some playing time and score some points. Abouo needs to be a bit more consistent but I like when he is there. I get pretty nervous when JT is passing the ball.
Big mental breakthrough if BYU can defeat UNLV at UNLV.
I was at the Utah game (you can see me right behind Henderson as he flicks Emery) but TCU doesn't quite merit a flight to Provo... you'd be surprised at how many fans travel to the games, but mostly the big games.
It's much tougher to draw a big crowd on a weekday night especially for TCU. Check the attendance on the weekends though.
Would it kill you to include a box score? PLEASE..Pretty please
You are exactly right.
In fact it is the biggest story of the last two weeks. Not being ranked in the top 10, not beating Utah, But the total lack of Jimmer involving his teamates especially down the stretch of games.
If I was one of his teamates I would resent him. Going 1 on 5 while your teamates stand and watch will get this team nowhere. Rose better right this ship cause there are icebergs in the water.
Jimmer is not talking about the NBA, the fans are so don't worry. I doubt if the players read these weird blogs. They have better things to do with their life.
Dear Re: Can't DO it. It is a team game and they are winning as a team. Jimmer is the lead on that team. How in the world do you get 24 assistt without being a team.
Dear Boxscore. I agree. Otherwise I go to the BYU Cougar website.
