PASS THIS BILL

In the 30's Unions served a useful purpose, now their function is to lobby to take dollars from one group and give it to theirs. How can Utah be a Right to Work state and then pay for union salaries?

DO NOT PASS THIS BILL

Unions protect workers from big business from rolling back the clock to the 1920s, when there was no such thing as child labor, workplace safety, and the "weekend." (Look it up, the "weekend" was a labor demand.)

I have worked for union companies and non-union companies. And I can tell you which job I preferred. And which job I worked harder to protect.

Slat

So now we're paying Union salaries with tax payer dollars. Why am I not surprised? Is Pelosi the Utah Speaker of the House? Is Obama our Governor?

About Time

Maybe if the union reps stop getting paid by the districts they will represent the teachers. If anyone wonders why Utah is 50 out 50 when it comes to funding, teachers have no paid vacation (Christmas and summer breaks aren't paid!) and starting salaries are laughable. Just realize that union reps are paid by districts and that is where are their allegiances are. Pass the bill and maybe we will see a teachers strike because union reps are purchased by the districts. Pass the bill now.

Not one dime!

If union members want to voluntarily contribute funds to pay someone to do union work, they are welcome to do so.

Meanwhile, I expect every teacher being paid with my tax dollars to be in the classroom teaching kids how to read, write and do math, and some history.

Taxpayers are fed up with the incessant demands from the teachers unions!

Non UEA teacher

I support this bill 100%

The UEA has only served as a target for the legislature's hate of public education. Once the UEA is gone there will be no one to blame for the problems in education. No one except themselves and their lack of funding for the schools.

Pass The Bill!!

As an educator I am tired of this issue (this isn't the first time this concern has been raised). Pass it so we can move on to the real issues facing education. The UEA will spend all its time fighting this tiny problem while Butters uses the delete key on the 12 grade. Let's fight for the big issues and allow those on the hill win this one. It will make them feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside and do no harm at all to education.

UEA Teacher

Pass the bill. I agree with Non UEA teacher. Once the "UEA target" is removed, maybe we can focus on our lack of student funding. We are giving our students no favors by paying union representatives in Utah!
