This is not news. EVERY president's budget sets new records. As the value of the dollar declines.
for sending us the chosen one. Why haven't we realized before that we can spend as much as we want with no consequences? I can't believe no other president has noticed this.
We won't have any "change" left when this fool is done
BO is spending himself out of a job. If he really wanted the recession to end, he'd cut taxes and spending ASAP. No more welfare, arts, trains, and other ridiculous wastes of money.
maybe santa claus will help us pay off this debt. As long as we believe in everything, lets keep racking up the debt and not worry at all about the future generations ability to pay even the interest on the national debt. Thanks BO.
Anonymous is right on with that first post.
Also, Kudos on taxing the rich. If we need to dig our way out of this mess as an entire nation, then it needs to be the well off coming forward to save it. They should do it willingly, but in the absence of that patriotic attitude, maybe they should be forced to sacrifice for their great privileges.
All politicians are too focused on spending. Obama is no exception. I only hope someone can save us from Bush 2. The sequels really are never as good as the first.
Is it really a "budget" when you have a deficit of 1.56 trillion?
Just because you know where your newly printed money is going doesn't mean that you have budgeted your money.
Please, President Obama, live within OUR means!
The name makes me ill.....I trust nothing he says or does.....
Look at the mess I inherited from the previous administration...I just had to keep spending more $ to cover up the mess from the prior 8 years. Sounds kinda like each speech BO gives these days...
spin, spin, spin, i love to spin. I love to spin a tale, spin, spin, spin.
Call me crazy but I thought that jobs were supposed to have been created by that $787 BILLION he spent LAST January.
I hope you're being sarcastic, " Right on | 8:37 a.m. Feb. 1, 2010," because the rich are those that provide the jobs so we can pay our bills. If we over-tax the rich, then we are slitting our own throats financially. Besides, what incentive remains for us to work hard and be prosperous if the government takes it away in the end?! Cut taxes and loosen the environmental regulations so companies can have a fighting chance! (The EPA is nothing more than a bunch of thugs setting out to emasculate this economy.)
With all this government money out there, can I quit my job and get some 'stimulus' money? It does not sound like the American way at all, but it might be nice to kick back and let the government take care of me for a while.
Just once I would like to see an annual budget that: a)actually results in LESS dollars spent from the previous year, (no matter what "spin" is put on the need to INCREASE the budget). and, b)includes a plan to begin to "pay down" the amount we have already borrowed!
Are there ANY politicians up to the challenge?
it's only money...
Gee , didn't I hear Obama brag that he saved us from the great depression AND the recession was OVER? Now suddenly the recession is back on. Hmmm, interesting how the story changes depending on the audience. Also, during the State of the Union Obama was the great budget hawk and he was going to slash spending and on and on.... Now the story changes again and he puts back on his spending hat announcing a new gigantic jobs bill that digs up into even deeper debt with the Chinese. Also interesting how the 800 billion stimulus bill he bragged about didn't do what he claimed it was supposed to do or did it? Who knows? Only 15% of the stimulus bill has been spent and it makes one wonder why then do we need another jobs bill on top of the stimulus?? Basically, the right hand has no idea what the left hand is doing with "team Obama" and our chief exec looks more like a clueless clown.

I just can't agree with your philosophy that "Forcing" the rich or anyone else to give up their property to "save" us is a correct principle.
It is not government's job to save us in the first place.
Government pandering and intervention is the problem and the reason for our current mess.
Quote:
I can find no warrant for such an appropriation in the Constitution, and I do not believe that the power and duty of the general government ought to be extended to the relief of individual suffering which is in no manner properly related to the public service or benefit. Federal aid in such cases encourages the expectation of paternal care on the part of the government and weakens the sturdiness of our national character, while it prevents the indulgence among our people of that kindly sentiment and conduct which strengthens the bonds of a common brotherhood
-- Grover Cleveland 1887
(After vetoing a bill to give Texas farmers $10,000 in federal aid during a drought)
By the way, a call for private charity brought these farmers much more than $10,000.
The poor should also step forward willingly and add what they can to the pile. Why should only the well-off be patriotic?
Obama's proposed buget of $3,830,000,000,000 is equivalent to $12,500 spent for every man, woman and child in the country. $50,000 for a family of four. And this is just the federal government. Add in state, county and municipal government spending and the mind reels.
No wonder people don't have any money anymore. Government has taken it all........
The surest way to jolt liberal do-gooders out of their fantasies is to let (make) them finance their wish list of social welfare and entitlement programs with their own money.
Presto. No more liberals.....
I wonder how much our country is worth. Eventually,
China will just say, "Eh, we pretty much own the place." then invade and that will be that. Seriously, then spending has to know some bounds!
How many trust the Obama spin? How many feel comfortable having team Obama spend our hard earned tax dollars? Honestly, I am so sick of this clueless administration and their fumbling , dishonest ways. They have an 800 billion dollar stimulus in which only about 20% has been spent and now OBama is after another 100+billion for a jobs bill. I thought the stimulus was supposed to be a jobs bill and that really worked well didn't it. Unemployment was around 7% when the stimulus was passed and now it sets in the mid 10% range and climbing.
