Millsap can be an all star power forward in this league. He showed it last year. He proved it last night.
That is the Paul Millsap that when given the opportunity he delivers. When Boozer was hurt last season he delivered. Now Booze is hurt again, who knows for how long, Paul gets his chance and comes thru again. Also, Sundiata Gaines also can play when given chances. And Kerilinko and Korver are coming on. But what are the Jazz going to do with Boozer. He is playing some of his best ball and then bam, he gets hurt taking the ball out of bounds. What is with that. Is the guy snake bit or what. Maybe it is a sign Jazz, does he need to be traded? Give Paul the opportunity to start day in and day out and lets see what happens if Boozer isnt durable. Will this one linger on and on and on like the last one? We will see. In the mean time GO JAZZ!!!
Here we go again. Boozer gets hurt. Paul comes in and starts and guess what, he delivers. Just like last season when Booze was hurt he delivered then day in and day out and the Jazz won. How long will this injury linger on, and on, and on!! Only time will tell. Maybe this is a message to the Jazz, is Boozer not durable enough to be around all season to help. Is it time to let Millsap earn his money. I mean, Booze gets hurt taking the ball out of bounds. What is with that. Is the guy snake bit or what. He is arguably playing some of his best basketball and here we go again. Almost deja vu hey. Or is it deja vu. If Boozer is hurt for awhile, lets see what Paul and the rest of the Jazz do without him. The record speaks for itself. With Booze out last season, the Jazz had a better winning record than they did with him back in the lineup. Might be the same story again. Time is running out. Who would be a good fit. In the mean time GO JAZZ!!
The contract wasn't ideal, but THIS is why the Jazz needed to match the offer on Paul Millsap.
Would've liked to see more Koufos. He was rebounding well. I just wish he'd have cut back to the left instead of taking that awful hook.
Hopefully Fesenko is ready to go Monday. Still believe we need him, and will need him down the line. Hope Boozer gets back soon too.
Peace out from the Jazz Oracle!
I'm glad Milsap was on last night and we got the win. It was much needed especially going into next week which I fully expect the Jazz to extend the streak to 8 wins in a row over the Mavs, Blazers again, and Nuggets. I like Prices hustle but I almost think that Gaines is better at running the offense, he stays more under control and runs the offense, and when he does decide to drive he goes in hard but under control. Where as Price erratically runs in the lane like a chicken with his head cut off and either blows the layup or gets blocked and turns the ball over.
Great game Paul ... we are all proud of you!

Re: Jazzers
I agree with you, Sundiata Gaines does run the team better than Price. Though I do like Ronnie.
At some point, I'd like to see them both on the floor together again. Just like they did when Sundiata hit the game winner against Cleveland.
Price is a nice guy but not very good. He's an end of the bench emergency replacement. Keep waiting for O'Connor to do something. There is no need for four highly paid players who's best position is the 4. Boozer, Milsap, Kirlinko and Okur. Get a defensive 5 who Sloan will play. Milsap and Kirlinko can handle the 4. Okur can slid down as well as play some 5. Brewers best position is the 3, Kirlinko can slide down and play there. Please find a way to get rid of Miles. And you better get Matthews and Gaines locked up.
Boozer is out 1 game in 45 and so lets talk trade. I wonder how deep the Jazz fan really is.
Millsap has been in the league long enough and has prepared well enough to know when he gets the chance he has to produce, even if it is against the Kings. Too bad Koufos doesn't understand things like that yet. I hope the Jazz keep him long enough for him to figure out a few things.
Some great hustle plays and still the sharing that goes on, good home win against a team that 4 weeks ago we may have lost to,
Hey, where's Sloanhater now that the Jazz have won 9 of their last 10 games, including some great wins, by the way? The truth is, Sloan is a great coach, and his system works when employed. Sometimes the players either don't or can't execute, but nobody gets more out of his players than Sloan. This year I think he has shown more flexibility and adaptation than ever before. He is playing rookies when necessary, even in critical situations. He is praising players when deserved (but still gets on their tails when they fail to execute). And the biggest accomplishment this year is getting what had previously been a poor defensive team to play tough D. I once said that Chuck Daley deserved the Coach of the Year when I saw Dantley play tough defense for the first time in his career (except in the last couple of minutes). Now I must say that Sloan deserves Coach of the Year for transforming Boozer from the worst defensive veteran player in the league to a pretty good defender. I'm sure this happened because of Sloan's new system whereby each player is graded on each defensive set.
I`m more impressed with this win than the others. We were missing our big guns and still fought on.Millsap huge,AK,Gaines,on and on great team win.Go Jazz
Nice game for Paul, but we're not nearly as good a team without Boozer. Remember, this was against the kings, at home.
Take a long walk off a short pier. The Jazz looked great to me and last night we saw why Millsap was too valuable to lose.
Missing Booz wasn't nearly as noticable as D-Will. In the 1st quarter the jazz looked like a rec team throwing the ball all over the court. Lots of turnovers on what should have been easy pts on the fast break. The Jazz should have been up by 20 mid way through the 1st like against Portland. This would have killed Sac's spirit.
Only reason to trade Booz is if they get a quality defensive center. Marcus Camby type.
Love how Korver is contributing. He must be on minutes playable restiction.
Gaines is a nice tempo changer.
Noticed the Jazz are having a BLOCK party lately. AK is a new man.
Still believe we will see one more salary dump before Feb 17th. Not sure who it will be but it will come from the 2 position.
Nice run but the true test is March and April. The NBA has given the Jazz a tough road challenge. Wish they could have flip the schedule. The early loses hurt because the jazz needed a buffer of games fot the late schedule. The Jazz will still be lucky to get home court and making the playoffs could still be iffy.
I think you're right as far as running the offense. Gaines definitely keeps a much cooler head. That being said, I really like Price's energy. It can cause problems and turnovers for sure, but sometimes its just what the Jazz need. Sometimes he'll get blocked and sometimes he will dunk it over a 6 foot 9 power forward. Sometimes he'll let his guy burn by him on defense, but sometimes he will come out of nowhere and get the rebound on a foul shot. Sometimes his passes are erratic, and sometimes he'll volleyball spike block on a seven footer.
I think he can be a great tool for jerry to use and he is incredibly fun to watch. As long as Jerry knows when to pull him cause he's getting out of control.
Rich, sloan is an old geezer. I think its funny that you believe he'll win a championship with this team.. i guess you enjoy mediocracy. Do laker fans enjoy mediocracy? no they don't need to because of their team's regular success.
Getting into the playoffs every year and losing in the first of second round does nothing to make this team a contender, especially since we all know utah is such a huge free agent draw. Do fortune 500 companies keep bosses who barely make the bottom line every year? no, they expect more than that!
Bye sloan, you did well enough. Now it's time for that john deere to get some miles.
korver was awesome, miles looked like a baby, matthews scored 30,ak is the man, price looked like williams, great assists and shooting,
again, if all of you want this Sloan stuff to lessen it would help, if "sarcasm" on Sloan Haters eliminates after every game. Sloan is getting all these "newbies" getting on the board protecting him better than a Secret Service agent.
Enjoy regular season, got to enjoy that part of Jazz basketball. All well or good, I am not satisfied just making the playoffs like most of you.
Be fair when needed, praise Jerry when warranted. Criticize what is needed, but the more you guys do this is why it never seems to end.,
The reason there is so much emotion about it, is many of you discuss it over and over where it gets even boring to me...
Comparing the Jazz to the Lakers is a joke. The Lakers have 8-deep first round talent. The Jazz, maybe two deep. There's no comparison. Be realistic.
Why does Sloan allude to Karl Malone in EVERY single press conference? MOVE ON!
Milsap had a great game against an awful team,
(Kings have won 3 of their last 18 games). When
comments read "He can be an all-star in this
league" I think people are placing way too much
importance on this game and need to place it in
context. The kings planned their defense on
containing Boozer not Milsap, I suspect had
Boozer's injury occured a week ago they
would have been better prepared to handle Milsap.
