Utah to Chaffetz, what have you done that was so great?
Why should Mr. Chaffetz 'be trilled' to work with Mr. Obama?
Mr. chaffetz was elected by the citizens of the State of Utah to represent them and their interests in Congress. Mr. Obama was elected by the citizens of this nation to execute the laws passed by Congress.
The role given to Mr. Chaffetz trumps the role given to Mr. Obama. Anyone, including a President, can see that the laws of the land are enforced. Only the trustworthy should be allow to legislate.
Clearly Mr. Chaffetz doesn't know his role.
Chaffetz, you have done nothing but mad a fool of yourself since last year and this proves to me that maybe you need to look at your SHOWBOATING WAY.
I am embarrassed that JC played football for my alma mater; that he represents my state and that he is so hooked up with the Eagle Forum. He truly is an another black eye for Utah. He isn't much better than Chris Buttars.
Every time I see pepole say "I hate Chaffetz" they never have a single valid point to offer up. Hmm, wonder why that is. Oh right, because the moment he was elected he became the target of a smear campaign, from all sorts of posers posting as Utahns who care about politics who were no where to be found in the Cannon era.
This country is waking up to the lies and broken promises, and complete lack of change for the better that the liberal politicians have given us. Our only hope is that we don't elect a bunch of corrupt fake conservatives again in the backlash.
I think Chaffetz is honest and a working hard on the issues that are important to those that elected him. He asked Obama tough questions that half the country has wanted answers for. Good job Mr. Chaffetz, I support you.
I am thrilled that Congressmen C. represents me. BYU football is nice and all, I am more proud of the differences my fellow alums are making in the world.
I am glad that FINALLY someone from the Utah delegation is leading the fight. We are at war, make no mistake. I have FAR more respect for my FRESHMAN Rep than any long term senator or congressman I can think of.
Keep it up, Jason.
Why doesn't Chaffetz work to correct the disaster Bush left our country with? Talk about broken promises, Bush set the bar very high in this regard but for some reason the Republicans don't want to talk about this issue.
It would be nice if he did something unusual . . . like telling the truth.
JC is supposedly my Rep, but he hardly represents me or my family. His behavior is sicking. I feel Obama is doing well for having to clean up 8 years of crap. All JC has done is bitch about body scans. gads makes Cannon look like a dream. what is it with crazies in Utah valley?
GROW UP! I'm voting for anyone but him next round - wish we could oust him now!
joke.
I am proud of JC.. That took guts.. and I respect him more for standing up for what he believes are important issues..
Don't you think that "calling the President out on his broken promises" on national TV would take guts?
I would LOVE to have the opportunity..
Most people would choke, and even more would sit there silently and be intimidated..
JC was neither..
Good for him..
I'm glad Chaffetz had the guts to call BO out. I did not see in BO's response that he denied Chaffetz' claim that BO did nothing about the earmarks in the porkulus. BO also admitted he has lobbyists in his administration.
Thank you JC for standing up to the president and not being intimidated. Because our media will not do their job, we must have people like you who will speak up!
I'm not a fan of any current Senator or Congressman in the US. I am a fan of Term Limits and integrity.
I do have to compliment Con. Chaffetz that he had the courage to challenge Pres. Obama on the obvious dissatisfaction by the majority of Utahns and citizens of the US (depending on which polls you follow).
If you make a promise, live by it.
The Utah Rep, like so many Americans have short memories. The past Administration left this country in shambles (financially, domestically and internationally). Obama inherited a big MESS. The last Administration spent two billion a month on an unnecessary war; Oursourced jobs to other countries (former VP Cheney's work); did not invest in our own citizens and infra-structure (hurricane torn areas, old bridges across the US)and then give a tax-credit or refund to all Americans (300-600)which did more harm than longterm good, then they were out - leaving a big heap of trouble for the new administration. To his credit, Obama came in swinging and trying to "repair" the damage from the past eight (yes, 8 years). It is not an easy task. It will not happen over night or even in a few years. It will take as long to repair the damage, as it did to create/cause the damage. We should all try to get busy in our own communities and let the President do his job (and it is a major one).
Everyone makes the promises on Illegal Immigration when running for office, but nobody stands up and does anything about it. Who do you vote for ? They have all failed on there many promises to do something about it. Our system is a joke, and our country is paying the price. I feel bad for the next generation. Having to try and clean up the crap we left for them.
I wish I could vote for JC. Finally someone standing up to King Obama and asking him the tough questions. These were all legitimate questions that no one nationally has had the guts to ask. Thank you Jason. Wish I could vote for you.
So he says he's not going to take pot shots, then immediately takes a pot-shot with the teleprompter remark. Yeah, typical "helpful" republican.
Pres Bush was the batter. Clinton was the pitcher. Clinton started this whole economic crisis and left it for Bush. That's just the way the democrats do things. Obama will set up the next guy for failure too. You'll see.
