PRAYERS FOR THE VICTIMS OF THE HAITIAN EARTHQUAKE

For those suffering due to the earthquake:

All powerful Father, God of mercy, look kindly on those who suffer due to the Haitian earthquake. Please ease their burden and trust in your fatherly care. We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen

Father of mercy, You always answer your people in their suffering. We thank You for your kindness and ask You to please free us from evil, that we may serve You in happiness all our days. We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

For those who died in the earthquake and aftermath:

Lord, as we mourn the sudden death of those who died in the Haitian earthquake, please comfort us with the great power of your love, and strengthen us in our faith that they are with you for ever. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Eternal Rest grant unto them O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them, may they rest in peace. Amen

Thank God... We need to get them out of Haiti before they are Kidknapped and sold to Sex Slavery.. How are people so cruel and discusting.. The biggest fear of any parent is to pass on and leave their helpless children completely alone and without any means to care for themselves... God Bless anybody whom is able to take these children into their homes!!

onebighappy

God bless the pilot who refused to leave without the children. He's my hero!!!!!

Good luck!

Hopefully the Haitian govt will come to their senses and let these already approved adoptions finish and let the children leave.

I think that if an earthquake disrupted life along the Wasatch Front all the Utah parents who are clamoring to get these children out of Haiti in breakneck speed would have another concern. Some of these children may have family in other parts of the country who have not been able to get to these children as yet. Why is it so important to jet these kids out of their country less than three weeks since this horrible event. Hold your horses and let the process take its course.

Fantastic...

...we could use some cultural and racial diversity here. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Cougs!!!!! Go Obama!!!!!

prayers needed

Please pray for the people of Haiti and pray that the Holy Trinity and Blessed Mary, ever virgin will look after the children at this time.

@11:25

None of these children were orphaned in the quake. All of them were already in the process of adoption, which can take up to 2 years or more. They had already been certified as orphans before the quake.

The concern was that there might have been mix ups and they didn't want the wrong children going. But their caretakers and adoptive parents know which kids are which.

As for what's the hurry - how about no sanitation, lack of food, water, shelter, concern about disease, risk of losing them in all the confusion (whether to traffickers or simple bureaucratic mix ups), thousands of new orphans and no place to put them, etc. etc. What if that were your child in that situation?

Read some more about this entire adoption process and some of these specific cases! Some of these parents have had the approval to adopt these children for years (not 3 weeks) and it keeps being delayed.

Rock on Steve

Stephen Studdert is in his element. I hope he can continue to work his magic and get 141 orphans on that plane and out of that country to anxious parents who will care for these children.

I can't blame parents to wait until their kids are home to breathe a sigh of relief. These parents and children have been through so much.

Lindsay is my aunt and we are so excited for her, she and my uncle have been through so much over these past three years, and our family has been on a rollercoaster these past two weeks. I am so excited for them we cant wait.

I don't know if these comments are monitored, but if word could be gotten to the folks on the ground, it would be manna to the waiting families' souls to see some more pictures of what's happening right now. I'm praying this message is too late and they're already on the plane, but if not, please snap some more photos and get them uploaded! :o)

I really wish people would adopt children from inside the USA instead of going overseas. There are so many here that need help and are American citizens already. Now by adopting one of our own they will not get there name in the paper or TV but the rewards are greater since we are helping our own people. I am not trying to take anything away from the people who are being talked about here but just using a common sense aproach.

Mom of 2

I feel for the families that are going thru this rough time and even more so the kids...I just wish that more of the children within the US would be adopted..it's a wonderful gift to give a child a home but, at times there seems to be more effort made into adopting children from other countries..we have children here who need families as well...May all your new additions to the family reach you safe, healthy, happy..

If you read on the website that is bringing these orphans home, they state that:

"I just received this text message - 'We have negotiated the release of 125 orphans bound for SLC and are on ramp in Haiti. Steve Studdert and Executive team along with full support from US Military and US Customs and ICE Agents made it happen. It is truly a miracle.'"

(found at Utah hospital task force blog)

What has changed between 8:30 am and now? If they were cleared & on ramp, shouldn't they be in US soil by now?

Any new info would be wonderful.
