I liked the original film version better. But then, with
Dennis Quaid as the only star, versus the original's Jimmy
Stewart, Peter Finch, Ernest Borgnine, and George Kennedy,
I guess you can't expect as much. Wifey liked it better,
but then, she didn't remember the first. Sure, they made
small changes, like renaming the Heinrich character to
Elliott, but then they cast a ringer for him. Pretty much
no changes in the plot, either. Hardly any changes in
action. Gets annoying when they only have 5 charges and
chances to start the engine, & somehow you know there's 0%
chance the first 4 will work, and 100% chance the 5th and
last will. If you saw the first version, skip this one and
watch the first version again. If you didn't see the 1965
version, you may enjoy this one, and the other would seem
redundant.
